Good job, Hugh. Congratulations.

..... "did you enter at the "close" of the color-change of the candle?
I'm assuming that is the case, because you don't know the color until after the period closes (i.e. 1-Hour)

I found what I believe is a better alternative to the "quick draw" indicator to show round number levels at 100 & 50 pip intervals. The advantage is:
1. you can set different line types / colours for the 100 & 50 intervals - AND
2. if you delete the indicator, the lines are also deleted (not left as objects on the chart like quick draw).

I've set the default colour to Indigo, but you can modify & recompile or set it when you attach it & save in the template.

Obviously, save the file in your .../experts/indicators folder and restart.

Also did a revision of the P4L Clock I've been using to correctly show spreads & ranges. For explanation see http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...42#post5632342

My revised file is attached. Hope someone finds these a useful addition to HB's stategies.

Good one HB. Would be nice to do that all the time! I managed one nice 55 pip trade out of that. Didn't get the right sequence for the others & got stopped out of a AJ short on the NY open. Hope you don't mind my adding a few indicators on the thread...just thought they might be useful.

Rgds, Ozefex.

Hello Friends. Mrket very quiet ahead of NFM later today I guess.

But spotted this signal on Eurjpy and went for it. Sold at 105.33. Nearest support is at 104.60 area. Looking for a move to atleast 104.80 to take profit. S/L placed at 105.75. Previous high 105.63. RR slightly better than 1:1

Just my observation & not an expert opinion - This could be a good breakout trade with about 80 pips potential if it moved fast enough. The last EUR news (Final Services PMI) was supposed to be bad for the currency, so maybe this could be the start of a significant fall against the Yen. EU also looks like it could break lower. Only drawback is that it's Friday so it may not meet your target if you want to close before the w/e.

I have a short on AU at the moment from 1.02643 currently +20 pips up but have the same problem with the end of the week & the upcoming NFP.

Mate I am beginning to feel that this might not be the right time to be holding this trade. The market is too choppy and hardly going anywhere.

The Friday syndrome plus the upcoming NFP has drained the market enthusiasm.

I guess I will just watch it for a bit and get out with whatever profit I can get.

Thanks for the heads up
.

EU retail sales were up a bit so that may negate the bad news for now. Who knows which way the NFP will go or what will be the affect - probably just enough volatility to hit your stop...then head off in the direction you first thought!

AU is sitting on significant support around 1.0250. Current economic outlook is Aus is looking slightly bleaker (not compared to Europe...), and significant budget cuts expected next week. Not sure if that is good or bad for the currency but further interest rate cuts are also expected next month following the 0.50 cut this week. Seems potential for the Aussie to head towards parity or even below (but that would probably take some more slowdown in China). I'll probably leave this short open on my demo account for the experience.

If you can get to break even before the news hits then that's a really good idea. NFP could send the price 100 pips in your favour but it can also jump 30 pips against you before you know what's happened. Don't get caught out, best to have nothing open but break even is next best.

I love Heiken candles. I have switched to Renko candles mostly. Years ago, I had MT4 send a text 24/7 to alert me of crossovers. Now I just trade the opening futures market and play and sleep the other 22 hours!!

You've convinced me... Only 14 pips up at the moment but decided to move stop to BE. Could be lucky with the NFP but more than likely the volatility will hit the SL. Anyway, with the SL set I'd be comfortable with this on a live account now.

The market is stuck ahead of NFP.

Closed at break even.

Think will give it a rest for the week. Come back on monday and see how things are going

Nice weekend friends

Don't forget there is a UK bank holiday on Monday so it could be a quiet day too. Tuesday should be back to normal.
