Here is a sign that things maybe turning for the better. Music like this hasnt been made since Peter Gabriel "So" and Kate Bush "Hounds of Love" in the 80's. Since then the world went throught the grunge fad and the rap fad. Unfortunately the rap fad wasnt a fad and has become the dominant form of pop music to this day
This Guy comes from my town, Melbourne, Australia and the whole world just went nuts for a song that has not even the slightest hint of hip hop influence. The world maybe coming to its senses at last

I have to say being "out in the sticks" in Fulham did make me smile, I wonder what you would think where I now live, I have farmers for neighbours...........lol...... I used to live near Russell Square in London... But I prefer the slow lane now.........: )

LTJ is an acquired taste, For years he has been making some unbelievable music......Glad you liked it.

I agree................

I even like some gangster hip-hop, this doesn't mean I agree with some of their lyrics, I take it for what it is, I understand the environment in which that type of music is made in..... Its the environment which can be sad, their music is their life experience.....

I also understand why this type of music can be extremely controversial and offensive and can create extreme views, its pure design is to create a reaction, the generics of this come from a much deeper problem..Some people like to be entertained in their comfort zone other people like to be entertained at extreme points within their comfort zone, its what makes us all....................... unique.

Sometimes listening to certain artists is like looking into their own biography, We may not necessarily agree with there lifestyle, but it is......... their lifestyle.....

This is why we must have respect on forums like this, respect the people who are listening, especially those who may be offended with certain musical genre.......................................

For me if a song paints a story that needs to be told and has a "vibe" that sounds good, that's good enough for me.....

I think that's a big gripe of a lot of artists.. They are masters at expression and impression.. where they might say "I" or "me" in a song or maybe a painting they may not aren't actually mean "ME" or "I" (or themselves)... But maybe just expressing the world as they see it through someone else's eyes or perhaps a whole culture. I've heard a lot of artists complain about this in interviews.

I think it's just left to interpretation. That's where it gets the most interesting. Kind of like trading where you can show a 100 different traders a chart and they will all tell you something different. What they tell you usually has more to do with their history as a trader than the chart itself.

I was watching a movie a while ago now which made me laugh... They were talking about how good the 80's were until "Kurt Cobain came in and fucked it all up..."
