OK. You just detailed my entire trading method down to the letter. Yes. I also never take a losing trade. Well, almost never. Sometimes I will take one if circumstances have radically changed and the wait would be too long. Donīt forget that daily swap charges add up also.

If you pick your trades correctly with Extreme TMA and you use small positions and the Recovery Method, you too can have 40 winners in a row and continue trading with your spare margin while you wait for your trouble trades to recover.

I have to admit that I am surprised that someone else thought of exactly the system I use. I never read it anywhere. I developed it by trial and error over 30 years. Well, there goes my secret... Very interesting...

PS- I failed to mention what having 80 winners in a row does for your confidence...

I bet you he was between 20% and 40% per month. Of course, it depends on how good his trading system is and how small is small. His small may be a lot smaller than my small.

Most traders donīt realize how much money is lost from stop losses during a year. They think of it as cost of doing business. It is an unnecessary cost of doing business...

Hi Al, I have been scalping with the TMA and feel something is missing, do you have a special template for 1 and 5 minute charts.

Iīve been so busy lately that I havenīt been doing scalping like I used to. Let me put one together for you of what I would use. Iīll post it with the indis in 30 minutes.

Al, I think that his small was a lot smaller than your small, and I'm sure your system is much better than his system, that's why I asked this question!

Here is all I need. I thought about including RSI but in the end I did not, because I would rather have as much space for candle action as possible. I scalp in 5M but 1M will work just as well with this.

Al and Friends,

Iīve been used the semafor_3 indicator as shown by SCOTT-ibm.
Searching the MQL4 page I saw the indicator MTF Zigzag with 3 level created by rockyhoangdn.
3 TF Zigag Level with same settings as shown in the figure below. I think it very interesting.
Maybe, we could set to show only level 3 (matches multiple TF), but i donīt know MQL language.
P.S.: It works fine when both indicators are loaded.

I hope that is useful within the Extreme TMA system.

Excellent story, Mark! A great explanation of why recovery works in forex. I really felt it, so I think it will stick. It also ties in with what I said earlier about not using recovery for non-pairs/spreads trading. (#9996)

I would also add from my own pantry of mistakes, the desire to make more money than you have capital to make safely. The other is forcing yourself to trade a system that is not right for you, bores you to tears, for example, because you believe that it's a successful system that makes money. It only makes money if you can trade it!

"Sheesh! I don't want to bust my chops all week for $50 (even though I only have a $1k account!)" and "I know this system can work! Why am I falling asleep at the computer? Oops! Missed another signal!"

BTW in the table of contents you have a few typos at the bottom of Volume I in numbering the last three items (should be 26,27, & 28).

The video does something that I feel is a bit illogical, or abundantly obvious. It gives the over-used IMHO example of losing XX% and then winning XX% and ending up with less capital.

Pardon the Duh! A set percentage times two different numbers is going to give you different results! Hopefully, even beginning traders can figure this out!

But good advice, just the same. What I got out of it was to keep the amount at risk so small that you're completely comfortable with it, and can wait out recovery without becoming dehydrated from losing gallons of sweat.

You know I have spent years learning the lessons so eloquently spelled out here in one simple page. You get mocked, laughed, ridiculed for holding such beliefs and it wasnt like you got there because people are writing this stuff out there. You wont find this at any broker nor will you find any books on it. However, you will find an article here, a word there and sooner or later you learn the hard way that trading small, low leverage or no leverage, with multiple levels is how many of the big boys do it. Interesting that many have come to similar conclusions on the matter.

Anyway I have always wanted a thread teaching this subject. I think it maybe time to start one soon. The one lesson I have learned though in the long run is that, it is that I never take a losing trade, I only try to close the hopeless ones. The ones I think that dont have a chance of becoming profitable or recoverable any time soon. Good thread AL keep up the good work. I have discovered some things about trading weekly pivots I think will really add to anyone's trading system. Your teaching on TMA has been a blessing.

I can second that. Only when a trader realizes this truth profits come in and you would be surprised how those small trades add up. If you are looking to turn $5000 to $10000 in 3 or 6 months you are doomed. By using smaller lots you can make a healthy profit of 30%, 40% or more.

Like I aways say, if you put a little bit aside, every week, you'd be surprised at the end of a year, just how little you actually have! And the government, or inflation, will probably take most of that!

But that's okay! Nobody lives forever! And in the meantime, this fine ol' world just keeps spinning around!
