Hello Xlitang,

My point is that I see a lot of value in what Alfredo is working on. The 'basket' approach has real potential. I do not want to post trades that are not per the thread strategy.

You can put the indi on any chart timeframe and it will create a different basket for each timeframe.

I did attack the indi to GbpUsd chart, yes.
Go to Tools--> history Center, then choose the pair you want to download, in this case gbpusd,--

William, you say you look at it twice a day and all 3 time frames have to line up with the slope direction. What do you do when one doesnīt line up? You donīt trade that day?

I agree with what you say. It is way too early to declare victory. The Slope indi is excellent in detecting building momentum, but we havenīt faced wacky, all over the place volatility yet. I donīt think that system will survive large spikes.

It goes in the Expert file. If you use a 5 digit broker 10 pips = 100 pips in the EA.

OK. I misunderstood you. I thought you were trading the basket all or nothing through an offline chart.

I did attack the indi to GbpUsd chart, yes.
He's referring to the history center in MT4. However

Downloading history is kinda useless because the data is garbage. The best method for getting data that's from your broker is to open the chart you want the data from, uncheck the auto scroll option and press the page up button untill the chart stops scrolling back. This downloads the data from your broker. M1 will go back to about the first week of January, m15 will go back until mid 2011. This all depends on when you broker is deleting data though..

For EA tests all of this data is kinda meh and the best data to use is tick data to get a 99% modeling quality. This can be achieved by parsing tick data and converting it to mt4 data.

EA results on anything less than 99% modeling quality are at best, not trustworthy.

I downloaded it and restarted and it still doesnīt work. I think Iīm getting close to reinstalling MT4.

you mention 3 pips in spread. There is not much of pairs that has less than 3 pips in spread unless you are commission based trading.

Hello Alfredo,

I agree with you completely. My point was just that your basket EA has potential. This is way too soon to trade. It is just another idea of how to join a trend.

To answer your question, if all 3 do not line up, I do not trade that pair. As I said, I have had baskets with as few as 8 pairs and as many as 18. Surprisingly, the day I had 18 was the day of my 160 pip loss.

I do not believe any system will survive large spikes. That is why I use a SL.
