No, this is not by the rules. Simply a positive or negative slope at the time. That's all.

The only discretion I use is if the pair is beyond the 3.0 ATR bands and looks like a setup in the opposite direction, I avoid the trade.

Pure momentum, nothing else.

I have just started writing an EA based on similar properties. Long when 5min hits +25 and other TF's are positive and opposite for shorts. No real strategy yet other than the price can really fly when that bar hits +50 so the idea is to try and catch the trend early and see if I can build something on those principles. Purely experimental obviously, but I think there is a real great trend system in that TMA slope...

Changed it. Restarted MT4, set up the GbpUsd chart with the basket indi. Opened the offline chart and it is still not updating. Very frustrating.

Al, still holding short E/U and waiting for the 1.29 ? same analyses ?

Hello BC,

Since the 26th of last month, I have had 3 losing days. As I said, the worst was a 160 pip loss. Four were stopped out and the rest of the basket had a slight loss. Probably 5 days have been mixed results.

The rest of the time it has been anywhere from a small to a good profit. My wife calls it the Lazy TMA. We both keep telling each other that it cannot be this simple.

It still has a lot of market conditions to go through before I would be ready to call it 'trade worthy', but so far so good.

About how many total pips of profit have you made since the 26th ?

I am still holding all my shorts. I am puzzled by today´s action though. A break of the neckline early on to end the day at the high without any news and with Spain´s bond at over 6%, and no pullback at all after the runup. Very strange...

Did you download the GBPUSD history and attach indi to GBPUSD chart?

On another note, can this indi used to generate 15minute chart instead of 1H?

try updateing your mt4 and recompiling the indicator again. Do you get any error when you compile the indicator? post a pic of what you see... try running it all by itself without any other indicator or ea

Q: The off-line chart stops updating after a while. It is freezing.
What can I do?

A:

I've never seen this problem myself, but it seems to hit some users. I believe it has to do
with the chart template. If you notice this error I would be glad to help you to solve it, but
beside of the information that it is freezing I need more details. Particularly the following
information would be useful:


•

the chart template, i.e. what indicators, scripts, and EA's are attached;


•

log files from the experts/logs directory;


•

does the same freezing happens when you run the chart clean?


The best remedy till now for freezing charts seems to be reinstalling the Metatrader.

15min and 1hr depending on wether I'm trying to catch the start of a new trend or jump in after a longer trend pullback. I have some rough sketches which I'll try and scan in the office tomorrow with the basic theory. Will post them when I get a chance.

What do you mean by download the history? When I open the offline chart is says over 3000 bars of history on GbpUsd. Am I missing something?

I did attack the indi to GbpUsd chart, yes.
