If I would like EA to look for example at RSI at two periods, first H4 then M15 for confirmation, can I have a set up looks like below?

Would it work? Has anyone tried this before?

i don't know but it would'nt hurt to try tho seller9 would be in better position to answer that question but TEST it, you never know i'll try it on one of my pairs.

That only works with hanover, nothing else.

1. I mentioned in a previous post that I have been trading the Synergy TDI method with slight modification, practically full time for approx 2 years.
2. I have found that where the TDI Price and Signal lines are relative to both the position of the Market Line and the "50" line can be critical.
3. In my experience, when seeking a long, having the Market Line above the 50 line can really make a difference.
4. And / or having the TDI Price and Signal lines cross above the "50 line" can also make a huge difference.
5. Trading using this classic Synergy TDI method generated the results to make me a true believer.

Questions

 

1. Is there a way to trade EA similar to the my current manual application - so we can specify a long only when, for example, TDI Market is above the 50 line.
2. And / or TDI Signal and Price cross above the 50? Or, TDI cross above the market?
3. And / or TDI cross happens above BOTH Market and 50 Lines?

I may simply have missed it in my review of the settings options and your v 1.07 PDF.
Or, are those settings not there on purpose - and I need to "change my act"?

And lock these features in (similar but a bit different from your approach with an ma cross) - so that:

 

1. If the market line crosses above 50 then the TDI Price crosses the TDI Signal line occurs several bars later
2. Or the inverse
3. And / or permitting any combination thereof
4. In essence allowing a bit more flexibility / options in the "lock feature than currently with the existing MA approach in the EA.

Sorry I forgot to include this in the last post.

So this is what you want, make any changes to this list and I will see if I can get it in the next version.

1) RSI Price Line (Green Line) >< 50 and Lock Option, cross Red Option, and cross yellow Option.
2) Trade Signal Line (Red Line) >< 50 and Lock Option, and cross Yellow Option.
3) Market Base Line (yellow Line) >< 50 and Lock Option

Yes - as above. Excellent. (As long the option does not require a lock step order - that is "...A must proceed B in order for C...")

Some thoughts for your consideration...

I mentioned that I made & have been trading with slight modifications to the original Synergy TDI method which add logical assurances to build a "higher" probability trade.

 

1. I use the Parabolic SAR (set to .1/.01), Pivots (S3,S2,S1, P, R1, R2, R3), Support and Resistance for current chart TF & 3 Higher time frames, and a couple of other items.

I do not have your coding skills or knowledge.

 

1. My guess (and hope) is that adding the Parabolic SAR (long or short and lock option) though, would be the easiest to add - and of value.

I think the other stuff requires a human brain to trade - with regard to bounces, penetrations, proximity to the areas, how a responsible approach to "trading the price action" would react to and manage all of these, etc.

 

1. And, while I hate to appear an idiot, despite several attempts at fixing / testing, I am getting an "invalid stop" error 130 - I attached my settings. What is this idiot doing incorrectly???

(But thus far my other settings have generated a few decent entries. A good start.)

Finally, I will say that our Modus operandi appear similar - I give hundreds of hours of financial guidance at no cost to people who desperately need help - yet cannot afford to spend a dime. I get piles of emails & letters of thanks - and of course, it also feels good doing good. You are doing the same here. Thanks again.

What I was trying to create - through a variety of attempts - was the following:

1. Ability to set a SL and TP which are ATR-based - as a multiple - e.g., 2ATR for SL and 3ATR for TP (yes - I saw what I believe is the option to achieve this)

2. A capital / protection setting (a.k.a, Break Even) that I adjust also by the current ATR - either automatically via the EA of by my manually adjusting the EA each time - so, for example, if the current ATR of the price action is 6 pips, I could set the capital protection level at 6 pips, and adjust as the ATR changes. (yes - I saw what I believe is the option to achieve this)

3. Trails and other options to be experimented with later.

Despite my reading the PDF and all posts, I was confused a bit by:

 

1. the settings that seemed similar to me (as an ignorant user) - e.g., Close trade with x profit is an option as is a Take profit setting.
2. Close with a profit or loss seems to appear in 2 places.
3. So would not the trade close after the TP is reached - that is the TP designated in the first portion of these settings (at the yellow highlight), for example?
4. Not sure I understand the difference.
5. And of course, the bottom line is both that i am not properly selecting what I need and the fact that I generate an error message.

I hope this isn't an IQ test. I'll be embarrassed.

Nice to know that in this "business" are people with great heart willing to help just because they find a way to succeed and not wanting others to make the same mistakes they did.

I'll give it a shot...

I intend to try and mimic the EA settings to come as close to my manual method as possible.

 

1. I added the SAR, Pivots, S&R, an ATR measurement and a unique 4MA cross as a neat filter (but did not ask Seller9 to add that 4MA cross. I have compared it to 2MA cross - and while the 2MA is definitely not as effective, I feel that I must continue to experiment with all of the wonderful tools that Seller9 has provided before I begin to ask for more - than for which i have already asked!)

Relative to Dean's original basic method, here's what I learned over the last 2 years, to make the method more likely to succeed. It is the importance of (read "necessity of"):

 

1. monitoring the actual, tick by tick behavior of individual candles (I trade the M5)
2. knowing where the pivots and higher time frame S & R levels are - and applying what I know about price behavior when in proximity to these levels.
3. I'd hope to see these levels built in by Seller9 one day - as they are critical to the success of almost any trade. They exist, they affect price / trader behavior - and we must know what to anticipate - trading accordingly.
4. I have purchased only 3 EAs in the past - and all failed for any number of reasons. But not recognizing Pivots and Support and Resistance levels were a big part of it. The EAs fired away in complete disregard of obvious areas that clearly signaled failure. But I am not a coder and have no idea how Seller9 could accomplish that. He's the Master, I assume he knows if it's doable.)

I spent thousands of hours in front of the screen over approx 5 years, purchased / read over 75 textbooks, taken a few classes, read hundreds of articles, gotten brief tutoring from my Brother-in-Law who is a highly successful professional trader, tested hundreds of methods and indicators, etc. - all probably just like you and most aspiring traders out there.


I made huge progress - which is why I stick with it. But I still wrestle with my human failures - of anxiety, emotional conflicts, swings, etc. And translate "wrestle" into unnecessary and wasteful losses.


Long-winded - but I hope that helps.

My trading experience cannot be compared with yours sir, but i'm determined to make some sense from this "forex affair". I have as well countless hours of screen time, i have read lots of books and articles, i have tested and backtested lots of strategies and systems and now on my real account i'm at a point of perfect balance. For me is a huge step forward not loosing money and i'm pretty confident that there's just a matter of time until i'll start make small profits.....

i'll suggest some settings to mimmic your style for the
-The Pivots he's currently working on them with another EA and i assume it would be implemented when it's all working.
-SAR not there yet but maybe you could not use it for now or just replace it with another option like the Coral ? seller9 could probably add the period easily.
-ATR is already there in 2 different formats
-S/R well there the Fractals that can be used as Suppport/Resistence theres even a S/R indi that's based on fractals
-2ma cross is already there so you can use it with your top 2 of 4 ma's then use 2 of these options below to mimic the other crosses a candle cross over a MA is considered a cross or in my terms a CONFIRMED CROSS

I am stuck...per my other posts in past two days, I am unable to get any trade to fire in / out because of an error in my stop settings (invalid stop #130).

I experimented with many combinations of logical choices just to get it to work and none are working - so I am "dead in the water".

I am trying to:
1. Have a stop loss and take profit frie as a multiple of ATR (so, 2xATR for Sl and 4xATR for TP) + (I saw and set this option - assuming I did that correctly)
2. A profit protection level - e.g., as soon as the trade goes into the black by 6 pips, move the SL to that point (I saw and set this option - assuming I did that correctly)
3. Set a trail which is also a multiple of ATR

I see what appears to be ~~close the trade with x profit, or take profit or.... - which seem duplicative to this inexperienced user - so I chose one, then another, then both, etc. to no avail. Re-reading the v1.07 PDF and past posts haven't helped unfortunately.

I attached a copy of one version of these attempts which is failing. I'll take anyone's sage correction - including of course Seller9's - when he is available.

Anyway - thanks to you, Tex and Seller9. Standing by......

After many more iterations - I got it to enter a trade. I think I found a conflict between an entry and a close order.

I apologize for "wasting" this page space. But...despite what may be my best efforts, I am not getting it - again, failing the IQ test.

 

1. I want to set the ATR levels for stop and TP. - I set it - and it never shows on the chart as a stop or TP - either on the chart or in the terminal / order panel - I get zeros for SL and TP.
2. Or as alternative to the above - I want a simple SL and TP in Pips. (When I set those, again, nothing appears on the chart or on the terminal.)
3. I want a trail. (I may have that set up correctly
4. I want a BE (think I got that part correctly.)

If some one has a moment to check my settings (2 docs - A - with ATR for SL and TP and B - with specific PIPS for SL and TP) and straighten me out - I will avoid damaging my PC (and my fist).


And when using B - the trade closes immediately - it never shows up on the terminal - only the message report window - saying the target was reached.

Ok.. looking at the second example i'm seeing that you tell the robot to place trades with 1 lot. Do you have the founds for that?
In my settings the SL is 25. So for this to happen i only put the "takeprofit" = 25 and nothing more. When the trade is placed, the robot first place the order, and then after a very short period of time it places the SL level. I'm not using a "hard" TP, just a BE at 18 pips.

If your getting error 130 you may be to close with your SL or TP. Try placing an order manually with the same SL and TP and see if it will go. Brokers have limits on how close they will let you place these to stop scalpers with EAs. Also if the price is jumping around it could already be at your settings when it goes through causing it to fail.
