However, we are seeing some small rebound both in stocks (italian financials back above water) and bonds now, so I am going to stay sidelined till we breach this chop to some more meaningful levels...

Exactly, they always have to suck in a few fools with longs, to sell them covers of their shorts and than crush them again with new ones.

I am looking @ 2 levels to the upside, 3040 and 3070. Letīs see how it plays out.

Spanish banks entering in danger zone. The construction bubble was half burst during the financial crisis.

The half that pay the price was in employment and the economy (via the key interrelation and inter-sector effects in gdp of construction) but the government ( like always and everywhere) decide to keep the bastards (banks,etc) afloat.

The debt crisis toll was too high and lasted too long for Spain bet on artificially saving the banks to work. The trigger will come via the bastards collapsing on those artificially inflated empty buildings and houses held as collateral and not via fiscal mismanagement (Greece, Portugal) or corruption (Greece) or structural problems (all Piigs)....

Banks collapsing in Spain will open a lot of new factors and actors (on top of the obvious ez countries and euro). Expect a strong reaction and impact in the Uk if that triggers (via Spanish banks in the uk and the involvement of uk banking sector in Spain construction and mortgages)....and we definitely don't (well we want as traders but...)want the biggest financial market in the world playing with fire....

Downgrades on sight and risk back on the spot. Watch-out for US joining the risk party with poor numbers later in NY...
