It is big chance that my last demo was not Armada. I blow my first demo account and then I opened a new one. I opened it from Armada MT4 and it says PrimeXMDMA-DemoUK. I could not imagine that I could open an demo with somebody else when I used Armada MT4

I don't know about Armada but LMAX are currently sharing one of the PrimeXM MT4 bridge servers - at least until they deploy their own. In any case they would be deploying PrimeXM MT4 bridge technology - so references to PrimeXM IP addresses are not surprising. I strongly suspect Armada are doing the same

They should at least register their own DNS and configure the Mt4 clients appropriately to make it look a little more 'personalised'

I have no complaints of LMAX MT4 so far - but this is a little shoddy as the LMAX mt4 clients exhibit the same symptoms.

Anyway - another few clear days with no feed freezes or lag spotted (though i am not using any automated tools so they may be slipping by)

As you suspect, Armada as well as LMAX themselves currently use slightly grey versions of PrimeXM "white label" MT4. Certainly a trifle shoddy, but not particularly sinister.

It seems LMAX liquidity is also being made available via the Gold-i bridge - http://www.gold-i.com/?p=760

Perhaps all this has some bearing on recent reports of improved liquidity at LMAX?

Cheers,

Jim

Is anyone trading with Multicharts/LMAX and successfully entering microlot (0.1) orders? I can only enter 1 lot orders through the MC DOM. If I try and set it to 1K or 1000 the LMAX servers reject it as x1000 standard lots. Anyone know of a way around this. Cheers.

No. Whilst it now seems to be possible to enter "microlot" orders with vaguely sensible commissions via the alternative routes, Multicharts doesn't understand the concept of fractional size.

The only way around it I can suggest is to go down one of those other avenues.

Cheers,

Jim

disclaimer: could not find a better place for this without making a new thread

Hi folks, at the moment I am looking at the Armada demo and the charts have gaps.
The lower the time frames the more evident the problem (see pic, eurusd, m1).
I'd like to know whether others have the same problem and in particular whether the problem exists in the live version, too?
I have followed the setup instructions as provided by Armada, the server is 'PrimeXM-DemoUK - PrimeXM Prime Exchange Markets' and the instruments have the '.arm' extension..

I saw the same thing and sent them an e-mail. From their reply it looks like the demo server is being upgraded this weekend to cope with the increase in traffic in demo accounts which should fix the gaps that we are seeing...

Hello,

i consider going live with Lmax, my only concern is about funds safety.

IMHO fscs registration doesn't offer adequate assurance.

Can someone explain the risk for a broker of Lmax's standards to bankrupt?

FSCS covers up to GBP 85K - not sure what happens to open positions tho. I assume they will get closed at market.

The balance, deposit is mostly irrelevant.

I trade with a couple of UK brokers but wouldnt consider putting more than 50k with each even though I have a way to go before I reach that level.
I think the rules only apply to money you have on account being protected and that probably means closed positions as its technically cash on account in the same principle as interest on your bank account being cash in your account but open poisitons i'm not sure if they would be considered.

Is anyone using MT4 with Lmax with any success? (either with them, Armada, Fast Brokers, etc)

I know not optimal, just have some indy's and an EA or two I need to run.

--

What do people think of the swaps, are they competitive? I notice they consider 10K a "standard contract", at least for swaps. Is 1 mini lot still 10K, or is this now 1K?

Overnight charge on Eur/Usd is ~ $0.20 for 10K worth of currency. Trading bigger lots and catching and riding a trend this could add up somewhat, I just haven't compared to other Brokers to see how competitive it is.

TIA

Armada swap rates are pretty standard. Dukascopy have the lowest swap spreads (difference between long/short) i've come across. However, unless you are carry trading, and swaps are a big issue for you i guess you can't beat a swap free account!

Actually I will take positions and hold them for up to a month if the Daily chart allows for it, so swaps can really add up if not in check.

I've heard you just "sign a paper" sighting religion is the reason why you don't agree to pay interest (no proof?). Also heard these accounts usually just have higher commish so it's just a wash anyway.

I can understand interest being charged on money borrowed, what I wonder is if you are leveraged at a lower rate say 10:1 vs 100:1, then really you are borrowing less and should pay less interest right? I don't think it works like this though, maybe someone could confirm.

Does anyone know if LMAX's MT4 is reliable and are fills accurate or is there slippage due to the banks having to fill everyone at once?
I haven't jumped on them yet due to the 10k min but think the concept is pretty good.
