Trading short term before news: avoid at all costs?

Suppose you are trading 5 min-30 min chart range, and a really good setup comes up according to your system but in a few bars high impact news that affects the cross will come out. Should such a trade never be entered regardless of how good it is?

well if you like to gamble at least don't get slipped or requoted, if you absolutely feel compelled to trade before news, the best way to profit would be

1) a digital out of boundary option
2) buy either a call or a put digital option

you wont get slipped you wont get requoted and you do not need to worry about your stops being hit, just being right on your call/put.

Not as a gamble or as an expectation of news, but because there's simply a good trade showing through technical analysis. Is it THAT bad that any trade before high impact news can automatically be considered gambling?

Exactly around what time frame before/after news does requoting or bad slippage happen? Is it like an hour before or 5 minutes before? Obviously when spreads start to widen beyond 1 pip for EURUSD I'm not going through with the trade.
