Hi Dr Z

you are quite right. price compression now.
may even turn out to be a 5-wave correction triangle and fade away the divergence on low TF.

let's wait and see how it will play our later.

Hello,
placed a short order on e$.
Reasons: pullback candle on 4HR chart, the price broke PAC (by Dean Malone synergy strat), TDI green line going down near 50 zone, below pivot level.
Price touched again my SHI channel too, another confirmation.

Entry @ 1,33292
SL @ 1,33593
TP @ 1,32993

Had a couple of nice 15 pip scalps on the 15 TF today. They were pre cursors to set ups on the 1hr which i did not have the ability to be around for which is why i scaled in to the 15. Also noticing that bounces off the adr hi or low in confluence with tdi crosses are strong signals that pa will head to the respective hi or lo.

Hi Brifx,

There are other ways to get into a trendy move when we missed the LO and NYO H1 entries.
Your observations about how price bounce off the ADR High/Low are good. This also true when price hesitates around the daily pivots and S&R levels.
Another way is to use trendlines. See chart examples.

Cheers!

When I'm seeing a potential setup, the price approaching the SHI daily channel. Selling the tops and buying the bottoms of the channel. Price goes beyond the channel thus the SL keeps getting hit?

Isn't the price suppose to bounce right off the channel or am I missing something here?

The SHI channel is just one piece of the puzzle, there are more things to look at.

Momentum, price action, S/R, candle patterns + candle colour etc. (You can also use fibo)

Can someone please post an ideal setup for the H4 swing trade along with entry/exit points?

I printed out the pdf that was attached to the first post, read it many times and have yet to get a feel for the H4 system.

Thank you!

Keep in mind that I'm new to this method as well, but I've had some pretty good success with it so far. Here is the quickest example of what I would consider a GREAT setup. It is on NZDUSD pair. To make it even better, the channel should be sloping in the direction you wish to trade (up for long, down for short). There's enough other confirming factors here for me to take the trade without hesitation.

Attached Image

I would enter on the CLOSE of the candle with the up arrow. This would be a bit of an early entry since the TDI has not crossed the red line yet. You could wait until the close of the next candle if you wish for more confirmation.

Reasons for entry: This candle is a pullback candle, we've hit the channel, lower lows forming before the pullback candle, clean TDI break below the blue bands and is travelling back upward at a good slope, and next daily resistance area is around 170 pips away.

For exits, I generally just feel out the price action. If there is a change in candle color ON ITS CLOSE, according to the rules, you should exit. I've found that to be premature many times. I will exit on a color change of a candle if PA is strongly against me. If it's a small candle, I will ride it out. If I get a second red candle, I will exit immediately on its close, as my backtesting has shown that your probability of returning to your favor is less than it changing direction significantly. Also, be aware of the 60EMA and the 200 EMA, as they will provide some resistance. For this trade, I would have exited on the close of the second red candle, as that is also the daily resistance that I noted earlier.

Total trade would have netted around 145 pips. Hope this helps.

EDIT: And FYI, I have had ZERO luck with the 4H method on the JPY pairs. This doesn't mean that it doesn't work, but I feel that they tend to stop me out much more often unless I set my stop 20-30 pips further than the last swing high/low.
