I think perhaps it was because I put the stop directly on 1.6000. After thinking about it yesterday, I remember that often times, price will test a level 2 times. Perhaps I should have set the stop at 1.6010 instead, giving a few pips room for the price to test 1.60 again. Anyways, it looks like if I would have done that, I would be in profit heaven, as the price has gone clear down to 1.5895 as I write this. Oh well, thats the way it goes I guess.

Got another question... But looking around but can't seem to find the answer to it anywhere. Should you trade on friday? I wonder this, because it is quiet possible you could end up holding a trade over the weekend if you took one. But at the same time, there are setups that occur on Friday... Any thoughts? Paying swap over a weekend isn't high on my list of things to do... Also, seems like things general die down after about 11am cst on a friday, which is exactly when my 4hr candle closes. This makes it iffy for me as well.

the way I see it... in a joke!
If it is Friday, the weekend is right at the door! If you are a bachelor, you probably expect the best out of those days of freedom! Even better if your girlfriend is going out with you! Then you can share activities together! – forgetting about Monday morning!

Having an open trade for the weekend is like having a girlfriend “going out” without you “for the weekend” sharing activities of freedom with your bank account! - forgetting about Monday morning!

yea but already seems to find interference caused by the trend line drawn from the low on january, march and just now.- maybe a pause here around 1.3100 for a little while.-Macd showing oversold situation and the ATR range for that last (4H)candle not covered yet but pushed back up...

120405: partial profit has been taken at the little pause(trend line drawn from the low on january, march and 1,3124.)

hi all,
I follow the thread for some time. I see nice consolidation today, and double bottom on MACD (chance for counter trade), but it is NFP day. Do You trade on NFP day? If yes, do You have some strategy for "big information" days combined with the 4h strategy?

Uff.....I've just finished to go through the whole thread...twice

I read it once, almost 2 years ago, went to my real live account and lost the 70% of it, so, I decided put my live account to the fridge, go through the entire thread, do all the back testing and read all the trading books AGAIN !!!

It is amazing the number of things that I really didn't understand completely before start to trading, but now I have a better understanding of the market rhytm and how to trade it. Hope start to trading the real account again in October, according to my back to market plan

Let's see what happens !!!

Phil has the best strategy on this forum. He is a great guy and have known him since he created the 5 minute system way back min 2007. I just dont think people understand it.

Has anyone tested the 4hr MACD on other currency pairs besides the ones (EURUSD, EURJPY, GBPUSD & USDCHF) that Phil has recommended?
