Its funny how people see the slow down as a huge negative. Their lower GDP is still way bigger than just about all other countries.
You cant expect it to keep that pace up indefinitely.

So while demand for resources will go down, it far from signals China is having issues.

RBA Rates decision next Tuesday might create a storm.
Almost as though a cut has been priced in. RBA hold = AUD up

Unlikely the interest rate will move at all. If you look at the futures being traded on the ASX Interbank Cash Rate, theyve the same view that its going to remain steady.

The drop in AUD could be attributed to the china data altho thats old news really but with some fear creeping back in to the global market USD may have strenghened due to its safe haven status.
I say 'may' as I havent checked this out with USD but this certainly was the case with the Yen.

Agreed Zac, Chinese data has had its effect. Aussie treasurer and RBA have also been talking a lot this week about the effects on the economy caused by the high AUD. Adding though they are more concerned by inflationary pressure rather than a high currency.

That is true. I think our RBA is one of the best central banks around. For the last 20 years theyve kept inflation relatively steady.
Inflation is currently 3.1%, while the target is 1-3% I dont see them raising it. Also as before that it was 3.5% and I find the futures Interbank trading very reliable when it comes to calling a change in rate.

same here i got couple of small positions across starrting from 5290 up to 54 which are giving me pain in the a$$ right now,especially with the fecking weekend,i have when everything comes togethers especially since its the end of the month so the clowns are always trying to push trough as many levels as possible.

It's month / quarter end.... and people are waiting to see what happens in NY open.

As much as I am bearish AUD, like I said before, I will not short it, been hit bad by the negative swaps. I will continue to build long positions when it gets to my target areas. Right now on the daily chart, I see a nice daily downtrend line from the peak of 29 Feb and the price has bounce off twice off that trendline, together with lower highs and lower lows forming.

Right now the price seems to move up back, probably to re-test the trendline (around 1.0500). If it bounces off again, that's a strong signal that it's time to short, but if it breaks it, then longs are going to win.

So, I'm heavily long at this time (loading up on the positive swap), targeting for TP at 1.0475.
Buy! Buy! Sell! Sell! Just make sure you have proper MM!
