DislikedI believe it was the market dynamic of Price breaking out of a consolidation area that pushed Price upward . .not the 6 ema . .remember the MAs just react after Price moves not because of it.

DislikedI hear you.
I edited the above post, to show where you may have entered and where the base would have gotten us in.Ignored
DislikedPatrick states the EMAs are buyers and sellers, so, if we look at them as extra confluence to show us short term and long term supply and demand, I think the extra confluence, could be a great tool. If we use it with discretion and not as a blind signal by itself.Ignored
DislikedIndeed, Jarroo, Mike, J16 & Patrick are basically all saying the same thing.
Strange how sometimes, we beat our heads against the slightly different methodologies yet, they all point in the same direction.Ignored
DislikedOk here is the last explanation on the base system as I have to prepare to teach at a university tomorrow.
Hope someone gets something out of this brief base system explanation.
Now, I think of it, I have seen Patrick using the 6 EMA as the trigger on the daily. But for the purposes of the basics, I think it is probably better to start with the slower EMAs on the daily.
Note that: Using the touch of the EMAs is nothing new, the touch of the 365 or 150 EMAs combined with S&R & PA as a signal confirmation are the very core of the J16 methodology.

DislikedOr we could look at this as 3 visits into a monthly supply zone, which has eventually exhausted the sell orders, allowing prices to break through.
Lots of ways to look at how price behaves which is why i enjoy this stuff so much. Really interesting.
Amazing how so many complex and wonderful analysis can be applied to the simple concept of "how much people want to pay for something".Ignored
DislikedPlease dont go too far into EMA system trading, newbies reading these last couple of pages will be dumbfounded and think J16 is a EMA following system, which we all know is far from it. To save any newbies getting trapped, maybe a new thread with this EMA following system, rather than J16, and only use EMAs here as per the letter which was confluence of an area/price action barIgnored
DislikedThis is actually J16's base system which he uses a variation of.
Do you think he would use it and teach it, if it didn't work?Ignored
DislikedYes, we can think about it any way we like, or not think about it, for that matter.
It is up to the individual.

DislikedYou know, I really do not care less who does or does not, want to think about it, I am just giving new people an opportunity to know about it.Ignored
DislikedAnd as for it being a simple matter of how much people want to pay for something, do you consider this to be any different. I don't. It is exactly that. If you understand it.Ignored
DislikedThanks for reminding me why, seeking light probably stays away from this thread.Ignored
DislikedJ16 has already stated personally, I can talk about the base system as much as I like.
Why are you continually hounding me?
I did not want to bring this up again. However, you are forcing my hand here.
Remember, you are not the proprietor of this thread nor a senior member of the PF. What gives you the right to tell someone to do or not do anything in this thread? The answer is, nothing.
I think J16 has a greater say here than you my friend.Ignored
Dislikeddid i suggest that anywhere?
I enjoy your teachings and repeating of others teachings. why you feel the need to spoil it all with stuff like this is beyond me. I note with interest who you chose to reserve comments such as this for.
Once again, the pointless abrasive side - lighten up. I was simply enthusing about the myriad ways we have to interpret the market. If it came across as anything different then you should show me how and i can look at how i word things differently. There are forums i visit where i'm happy to unleash my dirty side...Ignored
