DislikedHey FiatFap,
At the moment it calculates the time to next event by using your windows clock GMT+10 (in my case). However, the time that I use is my MT4 platform's server time GMT+2, as a result the next event countdown is wrong.
In the timezone pop up panel, is there a way that you can put an additional timezone factor such as "Trading Platform's Timezone"?
So IF you want to use your platform's timezone, you enter the platforms GMT timezone, and it then finds the differrence between your computer clock and your trading platform's...Ignored
Today's Event of 23:30 is correct (not including DST) for President Draghi's actual time for the speech for a GMT+12 setting. That is it is the right information with the correct number associated with the time.
HOWEVER, that event has already passed by, 30 minutes ago.
The Next Event countdown should read 30 minutes until USD Core Retail Sails.
However, if I set FXNewsAlert to the same GMT + 10 (+1 for DST) as my computer's clock then it actually has the events in the right spot with the correct time of day and correct countdown to the next event.
Thank you for such a sensational effort in programming this software.
DislikedThe Top panel where it has Today's Events seems to still work off the computer's clock so far as the time.
- So I trade from Sydney GMT+10 (+1 for Daylight Savings)
- But have the FXNewsAlert set to GMT+12
- In Sydney it is presently 23:00 (inc DST)
- Today's Events reads that EUR ECB President Draghi Speaks @ 23:30.
- Next Event count down says 30 minutes.

This seems to be a Win7 issue; it happens when your display is not set to default.
h/t Shabs19:
"That is caused by the display setting of your computer. Go to control panel, then Display & change the resolution to default 100% that should resolve that. "
Alternatively, here's a video solution.Ignored
DislikedApologies if I misunderstood, but are you saying your TZ issue is now resolved?
I've had another aussie mention TZ stuff - pesky antipodeans
If you're happy, i'm happy; thanks for the comment.
Edit: Also, make sure the alarm fires every few minutes (mine is set to 120secs). Go to Sound icon and change it in bottom blue box. If it's too large, then the app doesn't check events and your clock often enough, so it will still show events that will have come and gone.Ignored
DislikedNo it's not fixed....
I am wanting the FXNewsAlert to run on a GMT+2 or GMT+3 setting like my broker's MT4 platform does.
However, when setting it to that TZ, although it STATES the time correctly for the TZ, it is consistently running one hour behind in the actual timing of the alerts. So you get alerts after the news has actually already gone by even though the time factor is being read correctly.
I think this is because it is somehow getting the clock of your computer mixed up OR DST mixed up (which Sydney and Melbourne in Australia are...Ignored
DislikedHi,
love your application.
Why does it stop working when your website goes down?
Anyway around this?
There are better hosting packages for your site for about the same price that you are paying now. Just a thought...

DislikedCouldn't the config file it uses on the server be part of the application?
The link above is in us dollars 4.95$ a month unlimited. If your paying in Pounds or Euro you are getting a discount, sorta... It still does come up to a bit more... Just trying to help.
