How do you determine the trend or the current trend . I have a feeling this is very important to know before start trading any supply or demand levels. Would it be much of a trouble to give me some hints so i can assemble the puzzle?

I don't see the need for the word "trend" in trading

It's far more profitable to know what causes a trend, to know where it will begin, and where it will end.

A trend is nothing more than price moving form S to D and vice versa in any and all TFs you care to watch

Well said IF.. Great stuff..

in my case, all i'm concentrated is to locate where the buyers and sellers [levels] may be.. i don't give much attention to trend, support and resistance and so on.. i draw diagonals to find out strength of levels.. once price on levels then trying to read price action with the help of candle/chart patterns.. KEEP IT SIMPLE..

Well said.

If I may add a few things. Trends exist in many phases at the same time from a Supply/Demand perspective.

Take a look at IF's chart.

Once the Supply Zone was established and price moved away, the trend was down (on one level). It remains a down trend until price closes above the Supply zone. A close above effectively closes the zone.

So as we look at the chart we see a retrace up to the Supply Zone. On the way there, a Demand zone is created. Now the trend is up until this Demand zone is closed via a close below. So really there are two trends or trend phases at once. Because we still have the open Supply Zone.

One might say, "This could get very confusing with many open zones at a time". And that would be true, but the real key to remember is it the quality of the zones you are finding and not the quantity. In other words, if you are finding only high quality zones, but fewer of them, then it shouldn't get too confusing.

don't know much about news and fundamentals,

don't know much EAs and indicators.

don't know much about the holly grail,

don't know much about a magic book.

but i do know that I love to spot where the buyers and sellers,

and i know that if I can read PA, too,

what a wonderful world this would be.

dx still on buyers territory but the zone just above 78 needs to hold.. currently we have bearish divergence.. not as strong as previous one but still it's there so we cannot ignore the possibility of testing daily demand zone..

on dx chart overlay of some other instruments.. just to see where the money is flowing currently rather than pure correlations.. beside correlations i use it to gauge overall market pulse.. risk on/risk off stuff..
