I'm not sure if everyone skipped over this but this modified indicator shows the correct -.5 to +.5 range on all timeframes. So you can go to 1min or 1hr or even daily and it will give a correct TmaSlope trend reading according to that timeframe.

I'm no trading genius but to me this seems like a better method to judge the trend on the timeframe you are trading rather than only using the 15min TmaSlope to judge trend direction for the lower timeframes.
can you make a normalized version of the new TMA Slope 1.3v?

I am out for today, all positions closed for + 111 pips.
Never had a day like it, it must be beginners luck.

I must not get confident, it always comes back tro bite in the the backside.
Still loads to learn like exits and the recovery method if any go the wrong way.

I looked at this indi. The problem, as Paradox points out is that the Range zone varies from TF to TF. They are not exactly alike. We will be talking apples and oranges from TF to TF. My thoughts are that if an order direction rule is allowed in M15, it is also allowed in H1 or M5. We are talking about the same pair and the same ticks at the same moment in time. If a long is valid in M15, there is no reason why you canīt go long just because you have another chart on the screen. It is still a valid long. I like what we have right now with version M15. I will try it for a few trading days and see the results. Since I started using the Slope indicator and the new rules, I have not had one losing trade. Not in M1 or in M15, and that is using the trend of M15 for both TFs. I wonīt turn my back on 100% success just to try something new.

Yes. I turned Mt4 off and turned it back on again and it fixes that.

For me also they all say EURUSD,M15 in the lower left corner

I had the same issue. Go to Indicators and open the "display symbol and timeframe indicator" then close it. It will reset to the current chart.

Would you happen to have a link that explains in more detail what the different levels mean for the semaphore indicator? I know you said a white sun was level 3 but I am not sure what that means or what the other color suns represent.

I don't have anything bookmarked, but I'm sure there is loads of stuff out there if you Google it. As far as I can tell from using it, the three levels of signal occur when price action creates a new low or high and the level shows it's relationship to the previous set of low/highs. The level of signal shows how much the low or high has over-stretched itself, a little like the TMA. For all I know it could use a very similar calculation.

It's come in for a lot of criticism in the past because dumb people think when the 3rd level lights up they can place a trade against it. But of course, it can carry on for another thousand pips and that third level will just keep jumping to the next bar. The indicator really is a gentle tap on the shoulder to say, "Hey - be aware that price has moved a long way, so maybe start looking for places where it could turn around". By all means trade WITH a 3rd level signal. If price has a lot of momentum, such as after a big news event, you can ride that white sun off into the distance! Just be aware that it's probably going to retrace soon, if only for a relatively small amount.

The kneejerk reaction of the market to the downside surprise on Manufacturing PMI is funny. Since it is US data, it initially hurt the dollar, until people realized, Oh, Oh. A slower economy means posiible recession, which means risk off, which means a lower stock market, lower euro and a HIGHER dollar. The market is now correcting its initial mistake of interpretation. After so many years trading, I am still flabbergasted that traders canīt interpret economic indicators correctly right off the bat... I have seen this stuff happen over and over again for decades.

Thanks for your continued support in this thread Al. Fascinating stuff and clearly everyone is taking a lot away from the thread even if they don't continue with the system.

I'm wondering how you are treating the gbpusd trade as it hit R1 and we were already in a short from FPV. Did you add a new position at R1 and are you aiming for b.e or still the other band?

Kurt thanks but when I open the indicators window I don't even have the "display symbol and timeframe indicator" is it by change apart of or inside another indcator? I didn't see it in the most recently packet either.

Ok thanks. That makes a lot of since. I'm going to do some forward testing with it. I appreciate the response.

The slope indi does a better job of advising you that a change in trend is near. The semaphor is cute but almost as useless on its own as the spike indi. Plus as Pixelboy says, if you trust it in the heat of battle, you may end up with a huge drawdown before price turns. Also, because it is a clear light signal, psychologically you tend to believe it like you would believe a traffic light, making it particularly dangerous for inexperienced traders. Iīve used it before and it is one more in my tall heap of discarded indis.
