Ya I hear ya... Im still in a few big swings... thats primarily what im lookin for... pickings have been slim with all this choppy PA and ranging though so I have been working on doing more daily swings and Im getting my ass handed to me for the most part

my FA has been way off though lately.... maybe obamas plan to drive the markets higher no matter what is just overwhelming ly risk on .... sure seems that way as of late

still have that small position running from mid 2600's.... wish i could have afforded a good sized position

size does not always count

small position with huge pip gains is worth as much as large position with small pip gains

but point taken .... it would have been damn perfect to park one like that at full load and just watch it grow

I have been reading your FA comments lately, IMHO I don't think are wrong but maybe a bit out of sync with what is the mover short term and what is a structural factor.... and I guess you only want to care about structural factors if you are swinging.

All those mumbojumbo with news, tweets, etc on Greece and EZ the last few weeks probably are charging you the toll on the FA side perspective ...but those are exceptional times and not the rule....so I wouldn't worry that much ....

In any case, yeap US stocks and markets in full control, there are a lot of players eager to ride the wave as it has all the ingredients for a mid / long term profitable trend (I am referring to investors, and the "average joe" on the buy and hold for 5 years, not traders).

Obama is just doing a fantastic political job in taking advantage of the circumstances. The tax cuts it just the cherry on top to make this enter in bull market at full swing just before election. If everything pans-out TA wise in the next few months, it will be v. difficult to any republican to argue about the "economy"....We'll see

oh man for sure... thats why i mentioned being able to afford the size... i dont think i could have put most of my account on it then just sat on my hands for months on end. lol i have a profit protection stop well below 3000... i really likes how we dipped down below it and rejected it too...

i can`t count past 12 and don`t even buy green bananas , i don`t have the right mentality to trade longer TF`s.

it is unusual for me to even roll over trades , the fact that i took some chips of the table and some profit locked in does help

Thanks sisse... ya these are most certainly interesting times we live in and from a traders perspective the structural FA I am looking at is def more suited to trading off the much larger term charts and basically being able to wade through all this tweety intraday noise...

Im really looking for obama to be foreced to put his attention on driving down fuel prices... I cant see how he could win the elction if the average price of fuel soars to 7$ a gallon in the states.... THAT will be very interesting IMHO

lol me either im an intraday trader.... i was damn sure that was the bottom though ... at least for now... so i had to take the trade especially after the s&p downgrades on that friday before i took the trade... even made a stronger conviction for me to take the long position..

oanda also will let you open up sub accounts attatched to your primary account so thats what i did to take that trade... out of sight out of mind... ill just let it go

Good point but there is academic definition for that. There is hierarchical scale in crowds economic policy perceptions, fuel is high in the scale but there is something above that is unemployment/employment transfer...and if they manage to keep the u turn in the employment market...the fuel cost will be "forgotten" until later...

certainly a very good point....

they are doing a great job driving the BLS numbers down month after month and making it "seem" like employment is on the road to recovery.... but absolutely a 5-6% unemployment number will have the masses doing backflips to get in line to vote for obama... very interesting times we live in... thats for sure
