Hola Alfredo,

I just want to give my opinion about hedging. Hedging is absolutely useless, you are only paying double spread....
We have only 2 ways of exit: SL or Recovery, I think itīs better to spend time with the recovery option than with the hedging. But hey, this is just my opinion.
Try hedging with real money more than 100 times and you will realize that.

ok
i placed 8 orders with the eas since al posted them
all the trades where counter trend (bands in the opposite direction)
all are already closed with profit
each made 5 to 10 pips wins
i targeted mid band or low tp as counter trend

the 2 trades i have still opened are from yesterday

I tried that many times but the problem happens on trend changes. Either you miss the first third of the move or you get killed during the change.

Time frames give you certain perspectives of what is happening out there. For example Daily and 4H charts give you what is happening during a week. 1H & 30M charts help you see what is happening during that day. 15M charts and lower help you see what is happening in a session like the Euro session, USD session etc. So if your looking to determine a definition of a 15M TF trend you really are looking for what happens in a 4-8 hour session. I have never tried defining a session trend but something you may want to look at is: Is price moving away from or towards the daily pivot point. That maybe one way of looking at it. Since you are using the TMA you may want to look at is price moving away from or toward the center TMA line. Otherwise you can use higher TF like I have defined in 10.0 and then go to a lower TF to trade. In reality, unless there is a big news story you shouldnt have too much trouble with your system since prices range 70-80% of the time. The other times you just have to wait until the run is over and you get a retrace. Entering too early is always the biggest problem of trading high/low systems. Just some thoughts for you to think on.

Guys, I have a suggestion:

Let's make it a good habit: every time when you go to the thread, go the the very first post and check if there are any updates. You don't have to re-read the whole post every time, you can know if there are any updates if you go to the last line of the post, it contains the date when the last update has been made.

Right now, for example, the last line of the first post says: "Last edited Feb 23, 2012 5:16am (4 hr ago)" So if you've been away for more than four hours - you have to look for the last updates.

I wouldnīt call it useless. That is harsh. It is one more option available and it has its merits. As you know, my favorite by light years difference is recovery. I have lost thousands upon thousands with stop losses. I havenīt lost a single dollar with recovery. Iīve lost money on trades, many times, donīt get me wrong. But because I decided to close the position because the technicals had changed. When I use recoveru it is because the technicals still point strongly to a Recovery of the price. I can only say it works for me.

Still, we must acknowledge that we are all different. Many traders cannot sleep at nights knowing that they have a big drawdown in the account, never mind, as some people say: "throwing good money after bad". Yes! Really! I have heard many so called experts say exactly those words. I can bet you none of them have ever tried the Recovery method. They just repeat what they read in books written by other "experts".

Still open. -37 pips on it right now. Iīll give it time. The dollar will start rising soon. I can afford to do that because it only takes 4% of my account. If it ever reaches -100, then Recovery takes over. It is important to always have a plan B,C and D for every trade, if for no other reason than you can stop focusing on that trade and focus instead on others that will make you money.
