The week ended on a positive note with two trades still running so have to wait and see how they unfold next week.

Losses are a part of every system/business and I also took one on S&P Mini future where PA dodged me.

Hi HM,

So firstly, the good news - the first trade you took today was pretty much exactly the same as Phx's. Good work on entering that trade. I myself didn't take any trades today as I thought it too risky, but had you let this trade run you would've been successful - this was pretty much the only valid trade today.

For the areas of improvement :

  1. Limit yourself to a maximum of 2 trades a day on the EU 1H. If you've taken 2 trades in a day and both are losers, walk away. Either your eye is out for the day, or the market doesn't want to be your friend on that particular day. Walk away - there will be other days. This also means you have to be pickier with your trades - take the high probability ones only.
  2. You should've let your first trade run. Yes, the 2nd blue candle was weaker, and yes, a red candle did then form, but, and this is crucial, the red candle never passed below the low of the big blue candle to the left of it. For price to indicate that it is going to make a decent go down, it would have to go below this line. It was pretty clear that the market was respecting something around this area all day. So best to wait until it breaks this line, then if the candle has momentum go short. With a 50 pip SL you would've had more than enough room to wait and see what happened.
  3. The above also invalidates your 2nd and 3rd trade, IMO. i.e. you shouldn't have entered short (not enough justification) and your 1st trade would've still been running so no need for the 3rd one.
  4. IMO (others may disagree), your last entry is too late in the day for a Friday. The Londoners would be about to knock off (that's if they haven't left at lunchtime), most of the institutions are probably off having long alcohol fuelled lunches, and a lot of traders just don't trade Fridays. Hence, there's not enough volatility to push any big moves.


The other thing that would make it really easy for us is to see your trades is for you to drag them onto your screen. Here's how to do it :
1. Make sure your terminal window is open in MT4 (that's the one down the bottom that shows your open trades etc) - if not, go to View and select Terminal.
2. Go to the Account History tab.
3. Click on a trade.
4. Hold the mouse button down on that trade, and drag it up onto the chart, then release the mouse button. Note - when you first start to drag the trade, you'll get a circle with a line through it as you hover over the terminal window. Once you move up to the chart window, it'll turn into a little box below the cursor. Just release it once you see this wee box.
5. When you release the mouse your screen will do a little dance, and then you should see on the chart your trade in the same way that Phx's show up.
6. You can do this for as many trades as you want, and have as many trades showing on the screen as you want, but can only drag them up one at a time.

I would use mt4 to show the trades, but I have fxcm trade station so it is difficult to do that. I would have to enter two trades at the same time and monitor both platforms

may i please ask why did you get out where you did on your last trade? i took the same trade and ended up giving all my profits back, because i had my target at 1.3200 and it didnt make it all the way there.

As I said in the post...I closed the trade because I got busy at work and could not monitor the trade....PA was up against a trendline and it was getting close to time for the market to shut down for the weekend.....there was not much momentum, so pushing through the trendline would have been difficult....so I closed it for what I could get.

Hi kotlt,

This S3 H1 and H4 systems are based on using the Average Price Bar 'APB' also known as Heiken Ashi (HA). The Synergy APB is slightly different from the original HA in ths way the APB_close price is calculated.

You should do some research and study on Heiken Ashi to better understand its use.

While you are at it, you may also want to search and read up on 'Hikkake'.

If you have not started from post#1 and got to this point, I strongly recommend that you start from post#1. There is a lot of good information available.

Hi h-m,

I have similar situation like yours because I also use non-MT4 broker platform.
For a long time, I had to use MT4 demo account for technical ananlysis, trade planning, etc.
I also use this demo account and enter same trades which I do in my live trading on the other platforms. It is a more work to do, but in MT4 there is s good trade history analyzer which is quite useful.

See attached. Try it to show what analysis data is churned out. One of the statistics is the average time of the trades. This is a good piece of information for you to know why you must give time for your trades to work itself before you jump out too early within 2~3 candles.

Note *** the attachment is a script, so it must be copied to the script folder shown below:

well the reason why i closed my trade for -10 pips last week was because the market was very choppy and PA wasnt moving at all so after a few hours i closed with what ever i had.

trade 1- first trade noticed the break above the 200 EMA but waited to see if it was strong and cleared the white resistance level. Entered long at 1.3166. Had stoploss in place. Tdi crossed as well.

Then saw the next candle struggle to move. Held my position. The red candle that formed had a TDI cross and was below the 200 EMA. Also saw the TDI was at the 68 level. I noticed hidden bearsh divergence as well.

trade 2- So I thought this is the fake out and...
First of all i would say that you over traded.
4 Trades on 1 day with 1 pair all within few hours is a high number.
I took 5 trades for the entire week just on E/U.

The maximum number of trades per pair per day should be 2 whether they are wins or losses.
Please try not to go above that.

If you lose 2 trades in a row in one day then just walk away from the PC. Take your fingers away from the trigger and go hit a punching bag LOL.

As usual, your trade entries are very consistent and flawless. Congrats for another profitable week.

But, I am just thinking when I looked at your chart, for the trades 1,3 and 4, why you did not push your TP after the initial +50pips. The APB showed momentum at your exit point.
