For this strategy I don't like trading on the 4hr simply because a mere 1hr broker difference can have a big inpact on the colour of a 4hr candle then a daily. i remember a long time ago trying a 4hr system and chatting to a guy in New Zealand, his 4hr chart looked like a completely different day to mine as his broker was 3hr different..it did have an impact on the daily too but not as dramatic.. idealy i'd pick the weekly or monthly for the big TF's to 'blur' any broker differences but the SL's a bitch, so the...
thanks for the reply kraven, i was looking at my cable 4hr candles last night and actually i found good setups that had very few bad trades there, that's why i asked the question.So i guess it has alot to do with the brokers not the strategy

If you insist on trading H4 with this strategy, I'd suggest you make sure your data feed has candles that start either at the London open or the NY open.

hey guys, would you consider the GU and EU H1 candles at 0700h a dead stop signal for long position? do the lows have to be exactly the same price? in these 2 cases about 1 pip off.

how reliable do you find dead stop signals? i seem to have hits and misses...

I'm not seeing anything I want to trade on those 2 pairs.

Try to look for reasons to NOT get into the market, rather than desperately looking for trades.

The reasons for entering the market should be overwhelmingly compelling before you execute an order.

Well spotted!!

However with a near 200 pip SL, I'll stick to H1 entries!

Could be useful for overall bias during the coming days though..........

****sorry guys,i've edited this post, i just got out of bed and took a look...the reason why it didn't show was because it was a red candle.

i was explaining why i wouldn't have entered the EU dead stop, basicaly no trend before and it was realy hard to spot....if it's easy it's often good.

I thought there had been an entry on GU and explained what made it good, but i was mistaken it wasn't even a KRC ( i just got up).

Yeah, seems that it is rejecting .0750 so looks on for a test of the high which is a bit under 1:1. I am looking after my kid at the moment but she is asleep so I might get involved.

I'd say yes, but with the very strong caveat that this would be a B grade set up due to ranging action.

But why trade B grade setups when you can WAIT for the A graders....................?

Well it's coming off of a Resistance area and off of the 100 MA and through the open price. Not a great swing mind. But you might consider it. I really should be doing something else so Good Luck.
