FX Trading reading list for newbie

Hi everyone. Since i am a newbie in fx trading it would be nice if some of the more experienced traders would be willing to write down a list of good books for reading.

Start with basics to better understand the mechanics of the market:

Day Trading and Swing Trading the Currency Market: Technical and Fundamental Strategies to Profit from Market Moves

By Kathy Lien


Do not take any specific strategy you find in any book word-for-word though... just mess around in a demo account as the book gives you ideas and makes your mind wonder about.

By the end of such a book (or others like it) you'll have a good understanding of the mechanics, and have enough time messing around in a demo to have order entry and such down pat (order entry errors will happen in moments of panic after all.)


Then you can move onto books like:
Trading in the Zone, by Mark Douglass
and
Super Trader, by Van Tharp

These will help you with consistency once you settle on a trade style that fits your personality best.

I would recommend reading a book called "Beat the dealer". The idea is not to beat the dealer but to beware of dealer tricks and make sure you can work around those issues. I assume that you know the basics of charting , candlesticks etc.

I'd recommend you dont pick up a trading book, rather an economics book

myself and most people on here make that mistake, then you will think trend lines and indicators are all you need which is false and your account will sortly reflect that

"7 Winning Strategies for trading forex - real and actionable techniques for profiting from the currency markets" (by Grace Cheng) is a good book.

Al Brooks: Reading price charts bar by bar
Really good, comprehensive and practical book about price action. The best I have read. I think every trader should check that out. You can find it free from google.

Check out also Jack Larkin's thread "So you want to be a professional trader" here on FF-trading discussion section.

I would suggest the same what Jack has suggested for the basics of forex trading. It's a good book for the beginners.
