I entered EURJPY short on H4 yesterday, after the TDI cross. The price closed below EMA(200) and below EMA(60) so I anticipated a short move after the ranging period, but the price turned and hit my stop. What did I miss?

Well nothing was wrong with the trade , its just that you shouldve exited much earlier than that.
If i took that trade i wouldve exited on the formation of the first blue candle , which shows a big bullish body

Gwsands,

All of my trades are determined by the TDI.

The green price line was above the red line, above
the yellow line and above the 50 line. Which is a
"Synergy" take the trade signal. The trade was also
above the moving averages (green moving averages)
which determines long term trend. Not part of
Synergy or X-Man system but very effective. This
was a very low risk trade. Once I make 25-30 pips
I was looking for a pull back and I wanted to take
the profits and run...

Hope this helps you!

That's well done man!
One thing... In my chart there was no TDI cross on the previous candle. It happened during the long candle. Was there a cross in yours?
Why did you ignore the "close above PAC" synergy rule?

I grabbed a quick 27 pips out of that ranging period. Is stalling right now around 38.2 fib retracement level. I'm thinkin' it might continue, but we'll see how the candles call it shall we? Good luck everyone.

Thanks for the explanation. I wondered if you were looking at the break above yesterday's highs - or the Asian session high - but obviously not. I guess I have been wary of TDI crosses around the 50 level, and have not been looking at the yellow line as it was omitted from the TMS method.
But now there are others in this thread also using it...
Would you say your green moving averages provide a better idea of long term trend than just using the 200EMA?

Got APB quite above the 4H PAC. Maybe some move looms... Or maybe not, who can tell?

Dr. Zulu,

The TDI indicator I use is the "real time version" which
I think moves faster and better than the original TDI.
Maybe that is why I received the cross faster.

X-Man please excuse me here. The "Guppy System" uses
a series of moving averages that are pretty accurate for
trend direction but they are not good for trading short
term with. But I keep the long term moving averages on my chart
just so I know where they are. But I have been known to trade against
them also.

Short Term trend

5 ema close blue
8 ema close blue
10 ema close blue
12 ema close blue
15 ema close blue

Long Term trend

30 ema close red
35 ema close red
40 ema close red
45 ema close red
50 ema close red
55 ema close red
60 ema close red

What X-Man teaches is a better system than the Guppy system.
But I do like to know where the long term moving averages are.
But like I said I also trade against them. Nothing is set in
stone and you have to be able to change and adapt. The
earlier the signal (pin bar) the better. X-Man has it correct
in all of his teachings. By the way X-Man is a great teacher
and doing a fantastic job...

Thanks for all the comments. The problem is that I can not follow my trades as I am working fulltime... I will consider as an exit signal if the APB changes its color.

we are still hanging to the swing level around 1.3120.
Market still wide ranging until you see it starts to trend again.

I haven't entered a trade yet but am favoring a long since price is above yesterdays high and will watch to see how it closes but the blue box on top could provide resistance.

Yes you can , but before that did you look at the big picture as well?
Did you look at you support and resistance areas?
Did you look at your trendline if there is 1?

All the basic factors has to be included when you make a decision.

I did notice other traders use the same analysis and they talk about demand and supply zones? I never really caught on but im interested in expanding my knowledge in this section.

I want to know how do traders identify demand and supply areas etc. does anyone knows? and can someone point me in the direction where i can learn more about it.

X-man - as a suggestion, you could look for Sam Seiden's videos on supply/demand on the fxstreet.com website. He seems to be the main person talking about the concept.
