i think is because u day-trade..........anyway, daytraders are losers so u cannot blame marketmakers but trader themselves cannot even profit from using their own strategy

Nope, I am profitable. And things happen especially when I am making profits.

it is because your a day-trader.....it doesn't happen to me.....i only got 2-3 trades a month........

I login and trade almost everyday, that's why I notice the problem. If you don't login and trade everyday and only 2 or 3 times a month, how would you know there isn't this problem?


To say that all day traders are losers and only swing traders are winners is not only stupid but moronic. Regardless of day trading or long term swing trading, there are winnings and losers in any trading strategies. But I would say risk may be higher for day-traders than swing traders. However, this is not the issue here. Issue here is Oanda has this problem of disconnection, and day traders will find that out more often than not.

Hello Oanda's guys,

I would like to know if it is possible to automatically move the stop to BE after x pips, or at x price with fxtrade?

Can we used a such EA on Fxtrade or is it impossible to create and use an EA on this platform?

I know i could do that with the Oanda's MT4 platform, but i want to use only FXtrade and manage my trade only with Fxtrade platform

It's impossible as FXTrade does not support custom scripts/EA's. So your only option within the FXTrade platform is to do it manually.

Your other option outside of FXTrade is to sign up for their API access and have your strategy/scripts written into a simple application. Of course you'd need to either be a programmer or get a programmer to write it for you.

The efficiency should be the same as if you were using FXTrade (if not better), and definitely better than MT4.

Here are their conditions for the API access:

"OANDA charges an initial licensing fee of USD $600, which entitles the customer to two free months of access to one API library for testing and implementation. After these two months, a monthly fee applies. The monthly fee is USD $600, discounted by USD $50 for every USD $1M in monthly volume of currency traded from the account.

Note that customers with accounts exceeding USD $12M in volume in a month are entitled to free usage of the API for that month."

Oanda went through a period where high volatility periods froze their platform, (probably when you're looking at trades so is everyone else) but those issues seem to have been dealt with.... haven't had any problems for a while now other than shading, but that's common to all.

Ah! The wonders of a costumer driven economy!

Since cash is king due to the recession, costumers are a premium and it is hard not only to catch them but to keep them also.

Oanda dragged their feet with a bugged platform and ridiculous charts for years.
Any complains from their costumers would fall in deaf years. Now because they started losing costumers like crazy they were forced to move their butt and do at least the minimum.

How hard it is to give people more time frames? What a impossible task it is to keep a platform stable? Mobil?

Yet they procrastinated until the last minute before delivering these things that in other brokers are standard.

I wish I could see oanda going bust someday, now that I'm with another broker

Misspellings aside, well said QuadrupleX.

The people who run Oanda are pretty stubborn. For example they've always limited leverage to 50:1 even before the new CFTC regulations existed (and even in Oanda Europe where they can still provide it).

Why? Because THEY believe it's enough, they don't give a crap about what their traders might prefer, it's what THEY prefer that matters. They never think "Hey, maybe some traders would be more comfortable with the standard 100:1", or "Hey, maybe we should expand FXTrade's charting features to make more traders happy, to accommodate the needs of more traders". No, they always stick to their stubborn way because they think it's unique and "right".

This leads me to the conclusion that they must have never been real traders. Nobody understands the needs of Forex traders like real Forex traders who have walked the path for years.

If I owned Oanda you guys would be very happy.

You wish to see a company go out of business, where hundreds of people would lose their jobs, all because you found their features not meeting your needs?

They weren't cheating anyone. Just a little late to implement features that you deemed important.

Oanda weren't cheating. They were just a few peas short of a casserole.

A question for current Oanda clients:

Do they really treat customers with small accounts like any other customer with a, let's say, 50.000 USD balance? They claim that every client has the same conditions.

From my demo experience I can say that the spreads are good, their News service very useful, but the platform is horrible. Never saw such bad charting yet.

Yes I would like to see them going bust! As I would like to see any messed up business model closing its doors.

The drug, tobacco and sex industries have thousands ( maybe millions) of people in their payroll. Do I feel bad for these people?

Individually, maybe. But not as whole.

I traded with Oanda for four and a half years and at their forums people begged for features they never bothered to implement. They didn't even bother to answer their costumers.

People trade with oanda for one reason only. THE SPREADS.

I would love to see their spreads going higher and their costumers base dropping like flies.

When I was losing money and breaking even I use to defend them just like you. But as soon ans you start to make a decent amount of money they unleash their dirty tricks and your life becomes miserable.

I'm with a BETTER BROKER now and I'm not looking forward to trade with them EVER again.

That's externalization.. bad newbie, bad!

Dude, I withdrawal my profits on a near monthly basis from Oanda... My net withdrawals have far surpassed my initial deposit, so if they had any reason to play tricks it would be on accounts like mine.

Only, they haven't been playing ticks, not at all. They are providing a service that they clearly defined to their users and haven't stepped out of bounds of that while I've been with them.

I've used said service based on what they have openly offered, for example, don't news trade with them since it wouldn't be to my advantage (widened spreads,) and I do scalp with them during times of good liquidity but not during a few part of the day that are lacking.

To date, they are the only broker I've ever used that hasn't had to correct a balance error or accounting error with me.. I haven't found any, and I review regularly for issues.

Their execution and system has acted the same for me during the entire time I've been trading with them.


I'm NOT defending them because I'm """losing money and breaking even""" as you said, I'd only defend them because they've done right by me, if I was defending them at all.

But my comment earlier wasn't about coming to their aid, it was about you being a nasty human being in wishing people would go out of business for not meeting your needs. You even later related Oanda to the sex industry... yeah... I'm done here with you on this subject if that's your logic.

Good luck trading buddy... it sounds like you need it.
