I think it's down to preference. I tend to 'shave' a little off each till I get the required result.

Do not shave from both. Shave off the CZ height, OK, but increase the bars. A tighter (shorter) and longer CZ is what you are looking for. Something like 25p tall and 40 M15 bars long would be optimal. Just don't expect to see very many...

Aye, I didn't explain myself fully, was a misuse of the word 'shave'. What I was trying to say was I start with wider parameters (bigger range, fewer bars) and then reduce the range and increase the number of bars and bring the number of CZ's down. I have the feeling that many thread followers do it the other way around. I think it must be as a result of guitar tuning.

Anyway, A lovely tight and long CZ greeted me this morning. I did take the short expecting PA to move back to the previous CZ but got stopped out, but then who cares bacause theres been a break to the upside and just closed 1/3 position for 63 pips and moved my stop now to breakeven + 15 pips (just below the 2nd fib level). Not a bad trade.

I've also taken a long on GBP/CHF from a CZ which formed on 27th Jan. It's on a 30 min TF and my testing showed that CZ's on this pair and TF can be used as entry's for a week or so. This is the pair that gave me 77% win/loss even when taking additional breaks from a CZ. This trade will have to battle through yesterdays congestion so I wil be keeping a close eye on it.

That's the way that made sense to me, and what I have done to all of my charts. Now to go thru each pair and fine tune them.

I am also going to look at the 30 min. charts.

Wow. Today marks our 7-month anniversary for this system, and we just crossed the 400,000 hit mark. Simply amazing, who would have guessed?

Well deserved FXH. This is easily the best system on FF. I don't post much but have read through this thread twice and follow along. Good job.

Congrats, now we just need to get it up to that magic "1 million" post mark. It has definitely giving me a new outlook on breakouts and, just like everyone else, I have molded it to fit the way I trade including throwing in some counter trade methods from my other strategies. I am glad I could help contribute something to the strategy and hope it has helped to improve it (at least a little bit) and to get some of you over the hump.

still learning this system, which tf do you think for a valid breakout?
i download sq indi from page one and put in au pair, but its not show me a box?
is there need another settings for indi?

Hey folks.

Got some piccies, I'm not going to be able to get any sleep thinking about these breaking out while i'm snoozing.

both are taken from the same chart USDCHFm same timeframe (30min). I still like to draw boxes and this is one reason why. Pic 1 is the box 20 pips high, my range limit on this pair is 22 pips.

It's pretty easy to see that by moving my 'floating' box 2 bars along I can reduce it to a range of 12 pips and hopefully it will still progress to 30 bars, if this does happen it will be the tightest box i've seen using SSBO.

By the way folks, NFP report tomorrow, so be careful of whipsaws after US open and a quiet spell before the release.

edit - when (or should i say if) the CZ forms and the indi draws the box, I'm expecting it to sit directly on top of the box in pic 1. However, I'm wondering if I could use the box as drawn in pic 2 to set my entry points. Has anyone tried this before? FH if your reading this is this something you have done yourself? or would you prefer to follow the CZ box the indi draws?

this system is quite similar with the 3 tire London Breakups but this should be way better cause it's dynamic and will adapt to market.

I did some extensive back-testing for the LondonBrekups and it looks like the best SL should be 0.8 when max box is 40p. I thought the best would be to a dynamic SL like a fraction of the box size but in reality it looks like 15-30p is the best approach.

Maybe Squalou would be so kind to make an EA for this system.

NFP - DAY - Not for everyone to trade - but I like it - I look for a 100 pip plus move and try to get some of it.

On the news it made a new High of the day and just exceeded Yesterdays high.

Went down and retraced but could not make a new High - very important.

Looks like it is going down -

M1 chart - I take the CZ parameters from my MT4 and put those on my Ensign chart the buy line is 1.3163 and the sell line is 1.3129

1st sell was 1.3145 - SR Line - 17 minutes after news - important to wait and observe

2nd sell was Box line - I had a 2 pip draw down - Excellant - Thanks FXHard and SQ

3rd sell was 1.3093 - SR line

Most likely done for the week.
