idk, I'll know when I travel to nyc. They generally hire already experienced dealers so I guess their MO all varies. Boston's chief mentioned that some watch levels and occasionally technicals, but that was as specific as he got.

Is the taf mo difficult to translate to dealer mo?

Found this documentary called billion dollar day. Shows how dealing currency was like and how crazy it can get. As FTI always points out to us never trade the market for ego . Here Chris Pavlou describes one of dealer named Richard that what makes him a great trader is that when he is trading he has no ego. He knows when he is wrong. He doesn't trade for his ego.

Another thing I found interesting was how on the telephone of one of the traders the following message was written " Don't get mad get even".

It also show how they take covert mission when buying and selling really interesting to see.

Hi fti, happy new year to you too. All is going well. It is a very personal journey for me so I tend to keep quiet as this helps me tame the ego and scorpions.

This the most important lesson dealers learn when on desk.
"Do not distract the mind with mouth while trading."
Is incredible you figured this one out all on your own.
When in battlestations, we never use mouth unless someone is going get @#$%^.
is all eyes and hands.

was typing out a story about this for fullperson, because he is about to hit the desk in ny soon. And suddenly you came with it. Explains why you have been very quiet lately, in meditation mode

This you must learn to do,when you arrive at desk. Every experienced dealer knows this routine.

clean dealing console.
get big cup of coffee.cover coffee, keeps it warm for longer.( try drink coffe without sugar, you not want get sugar hype while trading.) also keeps diabetes away longer.
clear ashtray.
put 3 packets cigarettes on dealing desk.every pack should have its own lighter, just incase you get urge smoke a couple at the same time.or may like stuff one in each ear if things gets too hairy. or hostrils , depends on you inclination.

sharpen all 10 pencils, this you will need to throw at anyone who disturbs you and for stabbing anyone who trys touch your console.
ready blotter & calculator. ( learn how to use calculator without having to look at it in your free time.)
beside blotter prepare dictionary, the most vulgar edition is the best.
switch on your international linked broker boxes. These you listen to, to get indication what all other clowns around the world is doing.

when ready, go toilet empty everything.
then back to desk.
now you are ready.

meditate this story in your head, then you can start.

Once upon a time , long long ago in china,
a little bird was flying about in the sky looking for his lunch.
When suddenly,the sky turned dark and began to rain.
the bird got drenched wet and fell to the ground.
All the while chipping chipping in disgust.
as it fell it injured its wings,
and in fact fell into a big lump of cowdung.
What a damning day it thought. chipping away.

Shivering, all wet, cold and hungry, with injured wing and stuck on the cowdug ,
it thought only dang good thing today is that at least the cowdung was a little warm.
But the smell was unpleasant. So it start complaining chipping away even louder.
While the bird was chipping away stuck in the cow dung,
in the vicinity was a hungry cat.
Upon hearing all the chipping commotion it approached the noisy bird and had itself lunch.

Moral of the story for dealers:

Sometimes things are unpredictable.
and one can get caught in very unpleasant circumstances.
And especially in such circumstance ,one must stay cool and not make too much noise.
Because sometimes in the vicinity may be lurking hungry cats.

Be aware although sometimes we may be in shit.
Its wiser keep mouth shut.
someone else in your vicinity may be fighting for his dang life.
So try not lure them come chew your head off.

I think that last line sums it up for me. I am definitely no king on the hill so I have to keep the distractions to a minimum. I can do without unnecessary exposure and deception.

belated happy birthday and CNY.
that bird story made me laugh, it is so true of many things that happen during our lives though.

i found this last week, for my continuing personal journey it is true and it also made me laugh when i read it, i believe i am at stage 4. do not read this if you do not want to know how much time and dedication to screen hours you must have to get on the right path.
