DislikedOK, so basically you are only risking 1% of your capital on any given trade.
(in your example $150 of a total equity of $15000)
and you allow for price action to recover if the trad goes agains you
insted of having a physical stop loss order, ok If it works for you then I guess it does!Ignored
DislikedI am risking 0.3% per every trade ($150 to a total equity of $50,000). I will only add up positions to my maximum of 3% ($1500 to a total equity of $50,000).
Like I said, other people can say whatever they want. It is currently working for me (will it continue to work, MAYBE or MAYBE NOT) but at max I am still only risking 15% MAX of my total funds.
On answering the other person in this discussion:
How I came about to my calculation of pips was like this.
For each 0.1 Mini Lot = $10. Each pip movements equates to $0.10
So,
$150...Ignored
DislikedYou are right, you do not need to justify anything to anyone; but we are only trying to help.
And also, don't trust anyone else calculator, but for sure, double check your math too, there is a ZERO missing, either on the position size - 0.15 or 0.015 ? or the risk - is it 3% or 30% ?
Adios and good luckIgnored
DislikedI would do the opposite of what daily FX says and have.
Sometimes I read their BS news although I use them it always seems to be exactly that BS.
Writing to have the sheep follow and lose their money.Ignored
Dislikedaussie is hopeless, euro has risen so much and yet aussie's trading like it's christmas day.Ignored
DislikedI have followed Daily FX's news feed for several months now, and I must admit that although I appreciate some of their insights into trades, most of the time I find that their various analysts' different approaches and different time-frame outlooks make them very confounding to follow coherently.
It's as though they post the scalper who is "bullish the Aussie for 30 more pips" right in front of the position trader who says "watch out for that bear candle - we're headed down to .9000" on purpose, just to mess with rookies like me.
Anyone here...Ignored
Dislikedhaha yea, i long aussie for 4 hours watching it hover around my entry price for 3 hours then it moved up for 15 pips and fell again.
out @ be +2. i was aiming for 60 pips.
