Still s.hitty range, but not a bad day.

Fast close first fake short (-5). And ride a bit up on second trade (+40).

Cheers.

Being very much a newb I am very glad I am running demo accounts as this week has just been horrible...I think I am making every mistake in the book and then some...prior to xmas I thought I was a real natural at this and was making some very serious gains on my first demo account....

Since returning from xmas hols it's like the forex god of revenge is running the show!!!

But I suppose the lessons I am being battered with will hold me in good stead for the time when I do put my money on the line...

Good luck to all....

Dave.

Hey guys

Heres todays trades that i wouldve taken marked in the chart below. I didnt take them as i was really busy and did not have the time to sit at the PC.

I dont see any trades in the london session but as the NY session starts i see a pullback candle at the second vertical line (first red arrow) I would go short. My SL would be 25 pips TP1 would be 25 pips which shows that wouldve been hit before the candle started to retrace the second half could be closed at break even or if you were quick to see whats happening you couldve closed TP2 for 10 to 20 pips.

the second arrow shows another signal to go long. You couldve sat this trade out if you want to go only in the direction of the trend but as i said before that the longer the wick the better so i wouldve went long my SL set at 40 pips and my TP1 at 40 pips that wouldve been hit in the same candle and the TP2 could be left to run for 80 pips or you could just close TP2 50 to 60 pips.

Its always a good idea to lock in half the profits at 1:1 so if theres a reversal you will know that you did not lose everything the other half you can set at 1:2 , sometimes it wont reach double so you be flexible with that

thanks a lot for your daily analysis. It opens my eyes further. But I´ve got two more points for clarification:

a) TDI isnt really of imporance on hourly charts anymore?
b) do you trade your entries (pullback and breakout) only on the bar marked and one after it or any time on new york and london?

TDI holds very very little importance, I'm so use to PA that i dont even look at what TDI is doing. All my decisions are made purely on PA.
Well i would watch the charts every hour during the London session and the first few hours of NY session. If i see signals happen anytime between those hours i would take it. The reason why the vertical lines are there is to give a trader an indication of when the volatility will start so we start looking for our signals. The London mostly starts of with a fakey so i would say that as soon as the London session starts you dont have to just jump into a trade.

Hi X-man and fellow traders! This is my first post in this thread, which I followed for quite some time now. Thanks X-man for sharing your experience with others. I think it's a good trading system, if mastered. However, it looks like many people , especially newbies like me, having problems understanding all the details of your system. You can see it by the number of questions posted (and [i]believe lots of unposted) here by followers. I also understand that you have your own goals and cannot reply to everyone, explaining the details of every...

Kind of a surprise isn't it? I still don't know how one can trade PA using HA or Synergy candles. It just doesn't make sense to have a previous candle affect the current one but maybe I'm missing something. p.

Vantage and anyone with enough experience. Do you believe the best signals come right after the rates are released kind of like NFP. (Since OCtober the market kind of meanders until 7 or 8 am and then has a direction or movement)

Xman are the TPs just a general suggestion because I thought you personally lock in all the TPs not half at 1 level and the remaining at another level

I had two good trades today based on the old system of PA confirmed by the TDI, even though I traded toward the first daily downtrend line. Big E's TDI system, with a couple of tweaks like waiting for a HH or LL of the previous candle, watching for pullback candles, etc., works for me.
If I get a signal, I often enter on the 1st or 2nd candle following LO. I always monitor that period carefully, in case it is a LO reversal and if there is, I usually break even...sometimes + or - a few pips. If there is momentum (price action), I enter on the APB color changes and TDI signals during the London session on the H1 chart, with good success.

I just avoid trading before then as its too much of a lottery, either mind numbingly sideways or erratic. If there is a surprise then yes the potential is there for it to have a major market move. You also need to be careful pre the UK MPC minutes release in a few days time.

On NFP days pa often drifts back to the daily pivot (as per UK midnight settings).

And for what its worth. EUR D chart has a dble bottom with divergence. So I would consider buy signals now but be aware we are still in downtrend and we could revert down at any time. The 29 Dec low is a definite problem/turn area.

No for the last time my system has not changed from the first post. It is still the same.
The same rules still apply thats on the PDF file on post 1.
As i mentioned in the pdf that PA is king and TDI is your secondary indicator.
I have mentioned time and time again that you should do lots of back testing but i can guarantee you that theres traders here that read that but still did not back test at all and still expect to make the pips that the traders who have mastered the system.

Yes its a general suggestion but i highly recommend it because this will allow you to lock in profits so you dont lose everything when PA reverses.

All indicators move according to what PA is doing.
No indicator can tell you whats going to happen in the future.

So its first PA then comes the indicators.
Only when PA does then indicators react
