That was it, looking back it wasn't a spread widening, but my platform was actually disconnected for about 20 mins! Not good. This was with AxiTrader (uses Integral, as do Pepperstone). Luckily only demo, but I'll be watching the live account like a hawk from now on...

Can I ask you and Tarrini a huge favor. Can you guys start a new thread Three pairs hedge /Grid?

I think there is enough interest from many of you wanting to use Grid and place pending orders in that way.

Executing trades (according to rules) using Renko charts is not the same then using Grid. As shown in post #55. Therefore you will end up are using different rules.

The example in post #55 happens very often and taking in consideration that we use 3 pairs I know that would be happening continuously, specially during Asian session.

“Three pairs hedging /renko” has rules based when renko bars print in a renko chart.

For a Three pairs hedging /Grid , rules need to be made. Then and only then anyone will know
how to place them. Rules Specially for when price ranges between 2* GridSize pips. All that
could be discuss in a new thread.

I will contribute there too. I believe the ultimate goal is to create systems that are safe and profitable. Using Grid around the same concept could be also quite good. But I have not worked on that.

I also believe that discussing different rules in 1 thread leads to confusion, and ultimately to accomplish nothing.

E/U and U/C are 11 pips renko Chart, E/C is 5 pips renko chart (in spite that E/C bars appears to be longer)

Red lines in E/U chart are the 15 tp and 15 sl. And in the E/C chart the 7 pips tp

In the top left of the E/C chart you see I keep track of the "Equity"....

As E/C has no SL and we have to keep selling this but if E/C trend changes and it go up for long time then what will happened?

My Pepperstone was out more then 1 hr. I hate this.
My January test is not "pure strategy" anymore.
Long ago, I moved all my forward testing from Alpari UK because they had this period around London close that demo server where out almost every day.


Same happened to Wickedwin. I think He meant to say that His test was destroyed , not the “strategy” per se.


And this is making me crazy. Wanting a long period test, not able to BT, and difficulties to run good forward tests due to “demos servers” inefficiency. I was blessed to get a whole month in December without interruptions.

At least, most major brokers keep their Real accounts servers quite well and nothing to complain there.

After reviewing, we came to conclude that was not the spike (E/U drop) that messed out forward tests.
It was due to Disconnect time in demo servers.

I have been experimenting with Multicharts & Power Trader, and have come to the conclusion that the only way to backtest this system on years worth of tick data is to learn Java/JForex - see you in a couple of years!

ok, On first page your account equity is $7761 but image you posted above is showing $5234. Why this dropped this too much? Is this same account or you testing this on refresh account?

Forget about Demo, this could be easily tested in Live environment

using micro/penny lots. I just don't see how I can do this manually.

Hope someone come up with EA, sooner or later..

No. not the same account. Pepperstone provides only 1 month demo.
The one shown with 5234 I started in Jan 6. The one in post #2 run From Dec 5 to Jan 5.

If the author of the strategy doesn´t want to share his EA for testing it correctly, why must we help him ?

I have yet to see a system that cannot be tested in MT4 using tick data - including multiple symbol (basket) systems like this one. You just need to think outside-the-box a little bit.

In fact, I will go as far as to say you can backtest any system using just about any programming language. It's simply a question of how technically strong you are and how much effort you want to put into it.

Caillou..Caillou.. pushing again .. but you know what? I just realized from where all your comments are coming...

You think I have an EA that trades the system. And that I need help to "Correctly Test" my “EA”.

No, man.. that is not what I have. I presented a “System” that performed well for 30 days in forward test and would like help to back-test . ..for the benefit of all.

NOW...

My partner wont be available until next month to code anything new. But I have time right now, and I am the one does the strategy part and put the initial algorithms together for any system we create.

IF someone here offer to code the “TOOL” needed to execute trades just for “this” system, and also offer to open a new thread (after He/She post here) to deal with all the tech issues. I will write a basic pdf of what is required and PM it to that member. Then everybody can knock themselves off doing all kind of forward test they want .. just keep this thread clean from all that

I tough you had op out of this thread.

It is sad you have chosen to insult my character or my integrity to “perhaps” obtain
what you want. That is actually a real bad strategy. It does not work.

You have mention about FF members “contributing” and “selfishness” .. thats all you have done in this thread.

Don’t you understand that all FF member can go and read all your 16 post? .. and realized how

I believe that providing tools to “trade” a system that has “potential!” but has not been fully tested for long periods is irresponsible. That is what marketers do as their job... If that is selfishness .. I am guilty.

I would guess that 90% of the non-member that read these forums are all newbies and just looking for a miracle EA that cure all deceases.. They will took the stats in Post #2 , disregard all the reading on top of it. Download the tool, read a bit more and go for it .. have no idea what they are doing and get kill.

If someone else wants to take that responsibility and be the facilitator .. it is fine by me.

Discouraging indeed. This was my first Thread and I already decided not to share any other concepts/strategies in FF. Will keep this going and answering questions if needed...fine with me if ends tomorrow or take the desire direction and we achieve the goal.

I still do not understand what backtesting are you talking about? Backtesting on Renko charts manually? You cannot be serious. People have better things to do with their time. Hope, newbies will not buy this nonsense.

Hi Indrek.

Where did you get that idea? I am not insane .. I would never ask anyone to do that.

I am taking about:
Automatic Multi-pair backtesting.. like possible in other platforms like JForex and others. But because execution of trades are renko based, finding multi-pairs/renko combo would the ideal.

JForex (Dukascopy) rencently included renko in their charting but it is a nightmare at this point.

We could write (but not until next month) a whole new MQL EA to trade and execute in a renko "like" fashion just to avoid the renko issue for back-test. Difficult but not impossible.. but still we would need helps to translate from MQL to C++ or java.

I hope that help to understand. But don’t worry, I already realized that I posted in the wrong place. I should have seek a more technical inclined forum, or category.

Don’t worry about newbies ..nothing is being sold.. so nothing to buy. For most newbies It goes right over their heads.

Unluckily, and this is what I feel guilty and sorry about posting under "trading systems".. due the newbies fascination about "EA" s most of what I hear loud and clear is .. "EA", "EA", "EA".
