So why didn't they just take that bank out the minute they knew there was a problem?
Ignored
Really wished I recorded the session, but if my memory is correct, the bank in question is their biggest LP as it seemed like 80% of given size was frozen either on ask or bid side depending on market direction and LP delay. I have also noted that liquidity has been very dry during certain times, again, no proof, just casual observation. Beginning Monday I will start recording my trading session (roughly 1st hour of NY open) and posting depth of market when appropriate.

Net-net, MBT and PFL still rocks compared to most other brokers, but it is painful to watch these 'growing pains' and short-sighted changes (aka agreed that any outlier LP quotes should be blocked prior to entering DOM). BUT, I also appreciate the fact that we get a nearly pure view of LP quotes--BOTH good and bad!

Cheers,
Aaron

There is no bar on Mt4 M1 charts at 0:00. I didn't check every day but recent days and random days back to Dec 9, live account not demo. I quit making trades with these guys long time ago but the MBT forum is still good entertainment!

Great, thanks! This hasn't happened yet, I still have an inflated account balance. Thanks for the heads up.

My main concern is what has been voiced here several times - 4 minutes delayed executions / prices not matching chart. Until this is resolved, I can't open a bigger trading account with MB Trading.

Dighi,

I show that there was a Thursday afternoon after rollover that offset part of the credit, but you still came out ahead for the problem.

Forexquant,

We don’t have any server maintenance any more at midnight EST. That disappeared over a year ago. Is this in MT4 PFL, MT4 FREE EXN, or Desktop Pro (or what combination)? Are you seeing it every day? Because not everyone is.

Indytrader,

Actually, that’s exactly what should have happened. We monitor the quotes round the clock, of course, and more heavily during economic news. The minute we see a problem, we’re on it and talking to any bank causing a problem. We can pull them straight out of the feed. It might have been a case of the bank saying they thought it would fix pretty quick and it didn’t, and we gave them the opportunity because this doesn’t happen very often, especially if you knew what bank it was. But in the end, someone gave up on them and pulled them out. I’m sure there is an on-going conversation about what the procedure should be about removing a bank ASAP if they are causing any issues.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to give everyone an update. We experienced an issue with a bank Friday morning as I said that caused quotes to get locked/crossed for several minutes during NFP. This is a one-off situation and is being dealt with with the bank. Just a reminder that trading during news is always hazardous. Even when there are no technology problems, when the whole market is a buyer, there are no sellers. We work off of true market executions, not magical deal desk fills. That’s not an excuse, it’s just a reminder about trading on news…with any broker.

Separate from that, I want everyone to know that we are investigating the brief quote freeze issues and scattered reports of slow executions that started the last week. Obviously, the IT team isn’t going to have a conversation here on this thread, and I can’t keep you exactly in the loop on what they find, what it means, and how long it might take to improve it. However, we had an issue with a single trade server in the past, and it took a long time to hunt it down because it wasn’t affecting most customers, but clearly, some people were reporting a problem. Just understand that putting information here on a forum does not really help because the other part of the information that we need to know is who you are so we can see your account, where you are logging in from, what version of the software you are using, etc., etc. Posting a freeze report here if I don’t know what trade server you were connected to and from what part of the world doesn’t really help.

I think sometimes people assume that we aren’t paying attention. Trust me, we monitor our hardware and software more than you do. This isn’t a tech/IT thread, but when I see things on here that suggest problems, I do report them in to the right people so they can include that information in everything else that they have. If you are actively using and monitoring this stuff and want to help us resolve a problem, whether it ends up being a problem based on something on your end, between you and us, or our end (you have to be open to the reality that it could be either of those three and isn’t always us, although people love to blame the broker the minute something happens), I can put you in touch with people that will happily take your data whenever you wish to submit it and thus also know your account number and have all sorts of information that they need to help put that data into perspective. THAT will go a lot further toward solving any issues if they in fact are issues. And obviously, I can’t report back here “well, here’s what IT is seeing today and looking to see if they can fix.” It is, unfortunately, a one-way street. The more data you give us, the faster we might find any issue, but until we implement something, I won’t be saying anything else.

I do know that between adding some LPs, and each one has different “tech,” if you will, and of course creating the FREE EXN pipeline, which is whole new infrastructure even if some of the LPs are the same, and also adding better security features to the website, there have been some significant changes in the last two weeks or so from many technology angles. 99.9% of the time, everything is still good. If there are new unique bugs for the other 0.1% of the time that are new because of all this, then we want to find and solve those. What I think is overlooked in all of this is that we now have the FREE EXN platform with extremely tight spreads and no fees, and I think solid execution, obviously with the caveat that on news, things can happen. If you chart the spreads on FREE EXN since launch in mid-October through now, there is a big difference. It was up near 1.4, but it got down to something like 0.8. It’s a little higher at the moment because the one big bank is removed and also it’s late on a Friday. But guys, 0.8 pips on EURUSD with no fees…come on, give it up for that.

I think any small bugs that are left from all of these technology changes will be resolved in the coming weeks. Anyone that wants to help, let me know and I will put you in touch with the person that you can interact with daily via email with anything you see for a while.

Yes it is everyday on my MT4 PFL real account but I am not sure about Free EXN & Desktop Pro.

If you check the M1 Chart then you should notice that all midnight bars are missing.

I monitor the MT4 and connectivity performance closely and I already reported 2 bugs which already been fixed. The only issues left now are the quote freeze and the missing midnight bars.

I guess I can help if your IT team need any info.

0.8 pip is unbeatable. If it keeps like that or lower, sooner or later MBT will become No.1 retail FX broker. Keep up the good work Hope spread comes back to normal 0.8 ASAP.
If you can't tell, just wait. The market will.

Hi Justin and jleblang,

My client number is 11xxxxxx,and I can't place order anymore since 2 weeks ago, before that I already trade over 40 times.

I know what's this mean, but I don't know why this message show up?

I already send a email to you([email protected]) with my fully client number, can you help me out, thank you!

Eclipse,

If you are still experiencing the same issue, try saving (save as) the layout with a new name and then restarting the platform. Ops, is researching why this issue might be occurring, but that should give you a quick fix.
