Just had my charts freeze for what seemed minutes after the big spike low on EUR/USD. Now it is very laggy. I don't know what the hell is going on....Anyone else with this issue on MT4?

Very much agreed Crassius, and I was waiting for an objective, observant member of MBT+FF to comment. I was wondering if anyone attempted market orders w/ the negative spread and what fills would've been.

While it is obvious MT4 is unstable and its quality is justified by its price, the new LPs appear to fall behind during almost all market conditions. I even watched as the suspect LP's data feed was turned off and on resulting in normal then massively negative spreads. As for the guys running MT4 and EAs during both major news releases AND MBTs struggles, good luck to ya, I'm sure we'll hear about it sooner than later...

I too stayed on the sidelines and watched. Was going to screen record the session, wish I did. My guess is MBT programmers will be busy over the weekend and some kinks may be worked out or the LPs removed. The new changes have been detrimental, that's for sure.

I already stopped my EA. I suggest you do the same too. It is just too risky to trade with MT4 now.

I watched both MT4 and the Desktop Pro. The spreads were negative for nearly a full 25 minutes on Desktop Pro and MT4 was frozen almost the entire time. There was a day with MBT that I would wait 15 minutes and then decide if I wanted to enter or not. I certainly couldn't have done that today and this wasn't even a volatile news announcement this time around. On the Euro we still only have a range of 87 pips and 65 for the US session.

It doesn't matter much to me for the NFP, but it does make me nervous when I see the possibility of getting stuck with poor execution during any news announcement, scheduled or not scheduled. For me, certainly something looked different this time.

Yes, I agree. Will do! Funny, again I had a long position on the EUR and when the spike happened and reached my stop, the SL was not triggered again then PA froze. When it finally started ticking again, my SL was triggered 8pips beyond.

The negative spread is more than likely not tradeable. As justin has explained, when you send a market-order, MB routes it out to a LP using a limit FOK(fill or kill) order, and the LP would probably decide not to fill an order at a disadvantageous price. And thats exactly the reason they had to rename it to EXN. LP quotes are indicative only - the LP can decide to fill or not to fill an order when MBT sends them a client-order. On a ECN all quotes are tradeable and not only indicative.

My guess is its MBs quote server lagging(and not the LPs pricefeed). They do lag since like forever during big news, altho not to that extent. I have camplained too in the past. They need more/better hardware.

Really, for me MBtrading is terrible lately. 15m after news and I need wait for almost 45sec to order, with 5pips of slippage. Idont know hou works the MBT in USA, but Uk is not cool.

Last tuesday I did a Scalp with big Lot, So the market came against me, But I have problem Margin Call, MBT in this specific trade, didnt activate the margin call.

Despite my MT4 show me 2244% margin, I could not close my order because the system considered that I had no buy power(off quote message). So I contact the chat support to ask to not close my order in rollover, but and the easy solution was close my order...My order was closed with 87%, almost 20 pips after the MC point. So have more than 48h that I sent email to @mtsupport, but not have answer yet.

I have desktop account. During the negative spread my trades were not executed.

Around 10 min after and still on negative spread a trade with the minimum size were executed and it went in profit instantly.

The bad thing was that I could not close it in profit. Just remained there until price changed and took me out -7 pips althougth at the time seemed to be in small profit.

Dont trade during negative spread.

Actually, this has nothing to do with the change from ECN to EXN. We had always called ourselves an STP/ECN broker in the past, and the STP part is when your order routes out to an LP, which are part of our quote. The exact reason that we changed the ECN to EXN in name is because the NFA now feels that an “ECN” is a technology and not a brokerage. In other words, if we opened up two companies and housed our “ECN technology” in that company and ran that as one business, we could call it an ECN, and then have MB Trading route orders to that ECN. But since we do it exclusively for our customers, there is no reason to do that. Since the brokerage/retail customers are under the same name, we can’t call ourselves an ECN. Retail entities, the way they view it, can’t be an ECN by definition. Has nothing to do with LPs as that has always been the STP part of our system.

All,

The issues you reported on NFP were all from the same issue. It isn’t that anything is new or changed, and this is not a function of new LPs. We had one bank experience a significant problem at NFP, and their quotes were frozen, thus creating a crossed market. We know what this (currently) does to MT4, and on Desktop, while you can see the quotes, you would not have been filled by that bank trying to route to the price because they were stuck in all regards. This went on for several minutes. This is actually a major bank. We are working now with them to review their systems and see if they have made any changes that could have caused this issue. At the moment, they are removed from our quote feed until they can demonstrate that the problem is solved and won’t happen moving forward. All of the posts that you guys made are all from this problem, just different angles, some of you watching MT4, some of you not.

You may see one more adjustment now that we are passed rollover that might account for some of that $30, but they may have also issued you a small Good Customer credit for the issue. Just FYI, any out of range print like that gets fixed. I’ve only seen it happen a couple of times, it’s some data hiccup. You were the only customer affected and you were fixed before I even brought it to their attention.

In terms of your OffQuotes and Broker is Busy question…MT4 has nothing to do with our being and EXN (formerly ECN). MT4 is the software that you have elected to use to send orders to our execution system. Our system is not INSIDE MT4. We don’t own the MT4 software and we can’t control the messages that it turns out when certain events occur. For example, MT4 was never designed with partial fills in mind. When you go to buy 2 lots at market, if you get filled on 1.7 and 0.3 in two piece, MT4 flashes an OffQuotes message as a natural response to not getting back a 2.0 fill. Our bridge then splits the order into two pieces and Meta gets the results. That’s just what Meta does. So the error messages have nothing to do with execution at all.

justin,i do appreciate,although i do sometimes have bad experiences with MBT & believes that rest of the traders will also appreciate for your prompt reply to our issues,if can be solved instantly that excellant but if its not,at least u r here to explain it all,so your presence here is greatly appreciated although we know that this isnt the official support area[unlike some other broker that will only know how to tease their clients,sarcasticly!]keep up the good work!

matter of fact,besides the good platform,technologies of the broker,i think good support,rapport with your clients will also go a long way,agree justin? but pls do do something abt the glitches,etc if u or your company can.

Great, thanks! This hasn't happened yet, I still have an inflated account balance. Thanks for the heads up.

My main concern is what has been voiced here several times - 4 minutes delayed executions / prices not matching chart. Until this is resolved, I can't open a bigger trading account with MB Trading.

So why didn't they just take that bank out the minute they knew there was a problem?

There is no bar on Mt4 M1 charts at 0:00. I didn't check every day but recent days and random days back to Dec 9, live account not demo. I quit making trades with these guys long time ago but the MBT forum is still good entertainment!
