chicky is your man, he's got a good perspective on the whole probability thing and getting out at your predefined level... but heck we've all been there, me certainly, more times than i care to remember...

just speaking from personal experience, if my initial stop executes to get me out of a losing trade (even if the market turns right there and goes in my favour) it's really no big deal and i usually make the loss back quickly, sometimes within minutes. however, if i start moving my stops or averaging then it can lead to severe problems. trouble is, as the loss becomes larger it becomes more difficult to take and you start rationalising an even greater loss..

i actually allow myself just one stop movement and a half size lot average, if i got got good reason to think the market is gonna turn, but that's only because i tend to get in pretty quickly and so use a mandatory initial stop distance, as i rarely have time to calculate it...

feel like i'm preaching a bit and teaching you to suck eggs, but i don't think you can hear this enough times..

sorry bro i took a bit of a loss too... sound fucking stupid when u look at fucking chart and its straight fuking down...

not that bad though have most of it back now...
