How many experienced traders here pay attention to the M&W pattern or the Zig Zag pattern. Had never noticed it before until recently i read about it. I really don't use it that much because i forget about it and concentrate more on S&R and PA, which i suppose this pattern could be used in the same perspective. Correct me if i am wrong so i can get a better edge on it. Now looking at my charts i can see this pattern, some are longer than others but they are there.
The problem i have is to determine when the pattern comes to an end because of them not being the same size.

Ok i see a problem with traders identifying certain setup candles when back testing.
I will be compiling a PDF showing you guys the candles patterns that will increase your chances of been profitable.
If you guys keep your eyes open for certain candle formations then definitely you will be making pips. I dont even look at TDI when i see certain candles.

I will compile that PDF in January coz now i am on holiday.
Please remind me in January to do this.

Top Bloke mate! that will come in handy!! Thank you X-MAN for your help to everyone!!! enjoy your holiday!

Below are two charts.....one that you posted and one that I posted covering the same time period. I drew a couple of lines on your chart to show possible entries and added the total number of pips it moved from those entries.......my chart shows actual entries on both of those moves....obviously I did not get all the pips in the move....no-one can pick the bottom of moves consistantly. My suggestion is that when you backtest, you mark your ENTRY on the chart, not just the place where the reversal came. I found it good practice for making actual...

Thanks, really helpful

We'll see, yesterday was a small positive close candle at the proven supp level. So I'd have to ask again IF this is such a strong area why didn't we have some kind of strong engulfing close.

Cannot help but think the big boys are waiting for euro crisis news to go one way or the other, TWT.

My bias for now is still down. Then again I couldn't care if a day (or two or three) is missed especially at this time of year whilst a decent pos close candle forms on D.

Sellers come in around 3040 over last couple of days.

My very personal view is a preference for down. However we have had 3 legs down each 1 got smaller as they went along. Counter that and we did have a D pos close.

So IF and its a big if we have a strong 1hr close above 3040/50 then I might be tempted to buy a lower TF (a typical small stop) on a pull back to 3050. Profit targets small as this could just be a small pause in down trend and chance to sell rallies.

Chances are slim on that though, will prefer selling or sitting on hands.

Oh and its not a pattern I generally watch for but ascending triangles according to what I understand is a bullish trend pattern and we are in a downtrend. Perfectly happy to be proved wrong though.

I'm sorry for confusing,
What I mean is that, when we see any TDI Cross, or Pullback candle, we can also use the break of trendline as a confirmation too.
the main signal is still PA or Pullback candle. i just thought, break of S&R is also PA.
Sorry if it disturb the thread.

Appreciate the reply...

It's just that there are enough people here trying to grasp and get comfortable with what has been presented thus far.

As many of us know, a traders tool bag MUST be what has become comfortable to point of developing confidence when that trigger is pulled.

Wishing you both all the best this Holiday Season

No problem, a chart was posted suggesting a possible buy and I was just commenting that even if a buy came (just didn't say according to system rules) that IMHO it would be perhaps not the best trade and that a sell/sit out may be preferable.

I do appreciate that the thread may have meandered somewhat of late so I'll carry on lurking, my apologies.

Hi james
I hope it works out for you.

Is it a pullback bar in a trend move or sideways junk generally for past 2 days?
