......Lol, the bunker, yeah talk about that, I need some more items but I'll get them before the war start, I promesse, about trading, on the side lines untill london, need to sleep some, being all day from doctor to doctor, the blood pressure is a bit high, 180/120 so needed pills, and now the insurance that spends all year charging you an arm and a leg, doesn't cove the one the doctor order, so have to go back tomorrow, also taking the wifi to the doctor too, with neck pain, had an accident a couple of weeks ago and the doctor from the insurance, didn't fix her eather, nothing that I don't know why we pay so much insurance and taxes, if when you need it, is not there..........maybe we just need that war after all, and the bunker......

Right: A week or so ago there was rumour that a major French bank was about to go under, and was saved at the last minute by the central banks’ pump into the European market. The bank is now reputed to be Crédit Agricole … erm, my bank here in the land of wine, cheese and garlic. Oh, and the heart-melting sound of ladies parlant français. Yes, funds transferred back to UK account rather sharpish.

We have all been reading the news as of late, and of the UK dropping – essentially – of faith in the Euro. And then we have Christian Noyer and Barko Sarko taking cheap political shots at Cameron. Sarko is starting to sound like a petulant child… not that any of the other goons in Europe inspire much glimmer of respect. And then we have the former doyen of French Finance – Christine Lagarde – warning of imminent financial collapse the world over if something isn’t done. Chrissy, dear, horse, bolt, stable… and you sound as if you are trying to show some loyalty to your former boss, and help him get re-elected next year.

Well, I’m looking at the charts, and see that the Euro is not really making any retrace. I won’t make reference to the other instruments that I’ve been watching the last few days, and posted, but the latest chatter that I have come across is of a downgrade to France coming in the next couple of days, and not weeks. In addition to this, the downgrade maybe two notches, and not just one. This may very well be the deal-knell for the Euro, and Europe, as we currently know it; as the costs of borrowing for France will take off and climb higher than any Ariane space rocket… hmm, perhaps we should stick all the Eurocrats on one and wave it goodbye. I say death-knell as such an event would stop Merk the berk from forming any fiscal unity and debt guarantees.

The downgrade to the US was shrugged off, but then the Dollar is the big boy on the international stage, and so reprimanded or not, the smaller boys will still go to the Dollar for protection. The Euro - a gang of small boys slowly drifting apart from each other. Sterling – well, too many attachments to the big boy, to just let go and stand in the schoolyard alone.

Here in France, the news blackout on the state of the banks is a joke. Actually, it is a crime to keep from the public via the general mass media, what is occurring. Of course, the papers are all discussing Cameron’s ‘snub’ of Europe. Hmm, I think he knows exactly what he is doing, via personal choice, or as the messenger from the City. Either way, I’m ducking a little here in the countryside, as the Gallic resentment of the UK resurfaces. I already had one encounter in my local Super U supermarket. When asked by the cashier girl why the English hate the Euro, I asked why Christian Noyer hates UK fiscal policy (I couldn’t be arsed to discuss the reasons – partly because it would take hours, and partly because there was a line of seemingly hardened wives of French farmers waiting to be served after me – some still in dungarees and Wellington boots). She knew not what fiscal policy was, nor the name of the French Central Bank Governor. Nothing wrong with that – it seems that the powers that be deliberately make things so complex and convoluted in order to confuse and bore the public, and I include myself in that description somewhat, and I love to read about this stuff! – but if you’re going to stand in the ring with me, my dear, either whisper sweet nothings to me in French (I’ll capitulate pretty quickly), or have something more than a quick parry that has no force behind it.

On a side note, a relative of my wife has noted that the amount of burglary is increasing rapidly around Bordeaux – he runs a small business concerned with alarms etcetera – and that it is not televisions, hi fidelity equipment and such like that are being stolen, but food, and of course precious metal. He has told of some homes that have had wiring stolen from inside the walls. Dear me, what kind of return from work or holiday is that, when you can neither turn on a light, or defrost some sausages.? Savages, that’s what these thieves are, for if a man cannot return home and enjoy a banger with his wife, what kind of home is it?

So, I am currently looking at the previous occasions on which S&P etcetera announce these downgrades. It seems end of week are favoured – the US occurred Friday afternoon EST. Now, a look at the charts attached would tally with a market expectation of announcement, and thus a waiting phase for big money.

...and thank you for introducing me to The Black Eyed Peas. I had heard the name, but never heard anything from them until you put up that link entitled Fergie Boom Boom Pow. I watch the official video on you tube - yes, I occasionally find myself there despite my years and ageing mind. Dear me, Fergie is flexible – is she some sort of ballerina? Not sure of the video composition, but I guess it is moving with the times. Apart from that, it’s got punch in its melody.
