T Boone Pickens is an old oil guy, trying to covert the u.s. to natural gas. so we stop importing oil. i would not call him a windmill guy. he is pro u.s. getting off foreign energy. using whatever energy domestically available.
the Koch brothers and Boone are republicans. The Koch brothers are the money behind the Tea party. they funded a study on global warming. the study concludes global warming is real and man made.

His adds were about building a Wind Turbine Corridor through the middle of the U.S. Conveniently enough it was during the global warming/Obama green crap madness....

U.S. would get off foreign energy in an instant if we wanted to. Between domestic oil/gas/coal/sands resources and building nuclear power plants, that would be enough.

I know they are both republicans and I don't trust them any more than I trust Al Gore. Nobody is clean. Not at that level of power and wealth.

Like I said. Money + agenda stinks from a mile.

You know what's even more fun? The U.S. Is going to be a net exporter of gasoline this year. LOL.

if the true cost of oil was added in the barrel.. we would. its just to many get government welfare on the true cost

I learned a long time ago, while living in Communism that nothing is what it seems it is. It applies here more so than over there.

Maybe we should, and let the Free Market tell us where the inefficiencies/the real prices are. I would pay more for gas/goods.... But on the other hand let the Free Market work on the drilling side as well. In general you can't have it both ways, or not for long at least.

We don't want to drill/mine/build more power plants but we want the same comfort level, then we have to import oil. It's no magic. Pretty simple , actually.

The electric cars and all the other nonesense is hundreds of years away. I want to see an 18 wheeler powered by an electric engine (it would probably have to carry it's batteries instead of the load right now), then I'll go buy my Prius or Chevy Volt just to be patriotic.

i was talking about the trillions/blood spent protecting sand in wars.

you can do that today and keep your ford w.o more batteries. . the older ford the better. hydrogen is easy and cheap to produce. it burns cleaner then gasoline. and a 5th grader can make it. (separate it from water) the problem is, it cant be taxed and oil companies cant make money on it. and yes i have used/made it. fuel mileage was increased.. you got more energy in a barrel of water then you have in a 18 wheeler fuel truck (full x a lot).

Then again we should use our resources and that money would not have to be spent outside or anywhere for that matter. Nothing comes free. You take from one side, you'll find a whole in the other side. Just how these darn markets work....

And when it comes to oil companies, don't forget they are not alone. There are politicians there somewhere, hiding behind it all. Bottom line is, I agree corporations + politicians/government make the market economy not function the way it was designed to. I know there is no easy answer to it all, but I know this: The way they are going about it now, is not the right way.
