What Mickey is saying makes sense, BUT: I would bet that >95% of Buy signals come from the HIGH of a green SuperTrend candle's BODY...as in...a candle CLOSE. Likewise, I would say >95% of Sell signals come from the LOW of a red SuperTrend candle's BODY...as in...a candle CLOSE.

I was editing my post above, not sure if you saw the part about my assumption that using High/Lows would yield fewer trades, but higher winning percentage. Can you confirm that? Or is it just SO obvious it doesn't even need to be said?

You are correct, and I relly dont think when we do live trading will have a big problem about it.
its just as Micky say we can have a red ST candle where some think its close at the low body, but in real life it was an upcandle closing at the top off bocy.

Taking an entry (first entry or re-entry) in a trend trading system, you are looking for momentum to get the odds on your side. A new high/low normally indicates that momentum is on your side and that it is a higher probability setup.
In a consolidation the PA will often range below highs/lows without forming a new high/low. It is easy to be sucked into multiple losers within a range by buying/selling marginal highs/lows.....the sort of entries that goes 2 pips and retrace to the other end of the range because you are not buying/selling new highs/lows.

If Glen comes back with a sample, something like...
Candle Body test: 400 trades taken. 1000 pips made.
High Low test: 376 trades taken. 1094 pips made.
The results should be pretty self explanatory as to where, and why, what happened, happened!
(figures above are complete nonsense...just used for an easy example.)
