I think most people know Americas AAA rating is under threat already. At least this statement gives America some time to put something on the table, and a ratings cut will not come out of the blue. Just my thoughts.

I too want to say thanks to all those who are contributing! It's amazing how much the standard of this forum has picked up the last 4-6 weeks. Most posts are explaining what the market is doing now and where people think it will go and why (with charts and descriptions). Much better than it used to be when posts would be I sold at .9950 have now BE+1 (and the price at posting is 99.90 etc). Too late for anyone else to review and learn, (with no details).

Great thread keep up the great work!!

Fitch Ratings said in a statement dated Monday that it has upgraded Australia's long-term foreign currency issuer default rating to AAA from AA+ with a stable outlook. The upgrade reflected the country's "fundamental credit strengths, including its high value-added economy, strong political, civil and social institutions and its flexible policy framework," the ratings firm said.

I don't think Fitch factored the impact of a carbon tax(17% overall increase in household expenditure)...1st of its kind in a developed economy and a softening China and JP market that AU is heavily reliant upon.

Very true, even our miners are warning of a coming slow down on a global basis (already here actually). In a global crisis the USD is still king.

ya agree bro, yesterday and today the signs are there that the bulls are taking charge but overall seemed bearish (daily, weekly) and it seems like a correction and then continuation downwards but the market has its way and we just follow the trend till it bends.... Are u in any position now?

9922 tp 1.0070, 2 lots. Expecting market up to 4 hr 200ema before wonderful return eventually to 93.
