Ichimoku trading journal

It seems to be bearish. It couldn't break the resistance on Senkou Span A.

It seems to be consolidating. Price is in the cloud. Even longer time frames do not confirm any reliable trade signals. It seems to be choppy for a while.

I checked others but it is hard to get a reliable longer time signals. I checked USD/CAD, USD/CHF, USD/AUD but they are all over. So, check the all time frames from longer to shorter before you decide to trade.

Could you please explain how do you use Ichimoku. If you trade shorter time frames why do you look at the dailies sharts? How "short" are the TF you trade? 5-min, 30-min, 1 hour?

I ask this only to can follow your thread I like Ichimoku, but I don't use it. Just some times.

First of all, you need to know the basics of Ichimoku before you understand how it works. It basically has 5 indicators calculated by different moving averages. It works/designed best for longer time frames but you can also use in shorter time frames. Longer time frames show you the trend and shorter time frames are usually follow the trend but fluctuates. In Ichimoku you can see where the trend is heading and can decide where and when to enter/exit and plan your trades.

I personally would not recommend using less than 15 min charts but it is up to the trader and volatility will be high in short time frames. If you read the postings in this journal and check the web links you will find links to learn and improve your trades. You basically look at all 5 indicators being in harmony showing the same direction before you enter a trade.

I hope I was clear enough. There is also "Ichimoku Forever commercial forum which is a great forum to learn and ask questions to understand this system.

When you truly understand this system you would be amazed and would not need any more indicators since it has all you need.

I would just use it in demo and test and please ask any questions you might have. If you post charts that might make it easier since pictures are worth a thousand words.

It looks bullish when you look at the Daily and 4H charts.

I am short on EUR/USD, long on USD/CHF, long on USD/GBP, long on USD/JPY, and long on EUR/CHF.

Other than GBP/USD long and EUR/CHF long all my other trades were closed with 500+ pips gain. My account is happy

I don't ask you how works Ichimoku. I ask you, how YOU use it. And that only to follow your thread. I know the system very, very well

You basically check higher time frames (daily, H4, H1) to make sure the direction of the trend (bullish or bearish), then you check smaller time frames. If they all confirm and are on the same direction (daily, H4, H1) you either enter the trade or put alert where you wish to enter.

Take EUR/AUD for example H4 is all bullish (TS, KS, Chikou, Senkou A & B). You can then check the smaller (30 min and 15 min) then decide where and when. Since the smaller time frames support the longer time frames you can enter a bullish trade.

I should warn you though I am not perfect and make mistakes. At the moment, I am short on EUR/USD since daily is still bearish.

I got 100+ profits in this pair. I have been shorting it. I am glad it is over. I have an exam on Thursday and will stay away from trading until then. I suspect this pair to go down more.

Just got 50+ pips eur/usd short. My account is fatter

I expect this pair to go up. It couldn't break the resistance in early 13300's. I put a limit order at 133700 but may not come down for the trade to be in effect. I don't want to take more risks than necessary since it will be a quite day due to US Thanksgiving Holiday.

Anyway, my limit orders at 133700 were filled. I have 3 mini lot longs opened and my profit target is 133950. If the price reaches there i would be making 75 pips (25 pips * 3 positions). In dollar sense, that will be almost $60. I will wait and see and meantime, I have to study for my exam today (Personal Finance Reading that leads to become a Financial Adviser).

I just got my 75 pips In dollars it was $55. This is my live account. I also use a couple of demo account. Made enough money today and i need to stop being greedy.

On the down side, I entered GBP/USD, EUR/CHF longs on Monday and they are still down. It was a mistake but will hold on to them until I break even.

Did some stupid trades and closed them with loss. I am going to close my real trading account and continue with a demo account. I still more than double my real account but I'd rather keep the cash.

I just don't want to brag or only show my winning side but this is business and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Pride has nothing to do with this business.

I don't want to preach to anyone but I am trying to be open and honest.

On the upside, my exam this evening went really good for which I am thankful.

On the trading side, I am still battling with emotional trading. Systems might be perfect but as Tarp indicated in one of his books you still trade with your beliefs.

I am back again trading. I made about 3% profit today and currently I am only risking 2% of my real account. I withdrew most the money from my real account and am trading in a small account (almost $500). I am trading limit my risk exposure. Last week had to take a loss from profit due to overleveraging

I watched Manes Patel's new video on Ichimoku again and am rereading his printed book paying attention to details to make sure that I truly understand ins and outs of this system.

The more I learn about the system the more I am amazed. Especially, being able to forecast the future is amazing.

as i see you have been interested in ichimoku trading for a long time.. and there are things which i wanna ask...first of all do you use the default settings of the ichimoku indicator ? Second , do you use extra tools to decide Stop Loss or Take Profit level ? and Is ichimoku ur primary weapon against the forex market ?
