is there a way to make a tick chart, chartable?

so that i can draw my mess of lines all over them?

You would need an EA running continuously (i.e. you must never shut MT4 down) that collects the ticks, for every pair you want to work with, and possibly write them to a file. Then another EA to read the file, and gather and plot them as bars, candles, etc ..... however you like.

You can definitely create artificial charts, and then drop your favorite indys and line studies on them. The period converter indy (pips4life has written an enhanced version) allows this.

Yours is not an unusual request, hence something similar has probably already been attempted. Have you tried a forum search? Try forex-tsd and google also.

If your br0ker is ECN/STP, then you need to first create the market order, and then modify the order to add the SL and TP as a separate step.

Or find a script/EA that performs both processes for you. I have one, but it is a commercial product.

How do you guys post charts without the orders cluttering the main chart? I am using MT4 btw. Or is there a better platform that i should look at?

Tools > Options > Charts > deselect "show trade levels"
Hello Traders.

I have an MT4 question. I have been searching the internet for days with no luck and spoken to several brokers as well.

When moving the cursor on my charts over an object of any kind, a pop up window appears with the relevant data for the object (candle data, indicator info, etc.)

Is there any way to turn this pop-up function off?

Hi guys! Can someone please give me a hint.
lately I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7.
I deleted all the indicators inside program files/MT4/experts/indicators
on my new system, the folder is compleatly 100% empty,
after restarting MT4 the damn indicators are still there in the navigator!!??
and believe it or not, it even work to add the none existing indicators to a chart?? WIERD???
can anyone using Windows 7 please tell me how to get rid of them?
I realise this is a Windows question but it's kinda MT4 related so ???

I believe you're talking about UAC, invoked in Windows Vista and 'beefed up' in Windows 7. It's also the reason I refuse to run these wonky OS's, along with a list of others. Plus, there's nothing for traders that makes their machine or most any trading program run better than it does in XP 64-bit edition.

I keep forgetting how to turn these off (since I don't run 'em), but googling brings up this lively discussion (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...e-d2b9cf5bcff6) and then leading to possible UAC disabling utilities found here: http://www.itknowledge24.com/downloads.html . Good luck with all that.
I have the weekly chart open on MT4, it only displays a few bars and my moving average is a very short line. How do I increase the number of bars on display?

I was told to do as shown in my screenshot - works for me as I use "offline" charts, and if i check how many bars avaliable before doing this, and then again after, there is a huge difference.

Also, you can go to Tools -> History, select a pair & choose Download bu it gives warning about the dat no same as your broker? Other may know more about that

Hello. How much can I earn by selling expert advisor for Metatrader, for example such as EA Shark or EA Sigma?

How much can I earn each month, or how many?
i just downloaded a new instance of Metatrader4 on my machine, i already have one instance of Metatrader4 that is working great.
But the New instance from same broker, same platform is not.
i named them differently, the second one is MBT Metatrader 4-2 Demo Account
so i was thinking this would work, i can get connected and everything is fine except when i try and load indicators or scripts that are .ex4 file, i have all of these same ones running on the other MT4 platform, so i must be doing something wrong.
i only have one platform running at a time, but have tried running both and it does fine except when trying to load the above mentions .ex4 files to a chart on the newer second instance.
can anyone help.

Read this thread for more advice; if you have MT4 under Programs folder, you need to move it direct to C: drive for a start, that may help

On second thoughts, if you want to use the same broker, same platform, just drag & drop ( Press Ctrl to COPY) the original, working MT 4 to C: drive, then run it.

If all is well with indicators and should be, create a shortcut to that "terminal.exe" to run copy # 2

Later you can drag & drop (Press Shift to MOVE) original to the c: drive also, while both are shut down, you can rename them #1 / #2, make shortcuts.

Delete the second version that is not behaving...
