Great analysis, I kept my TP tight in reference of the resistance and also the fact its Friday....

I managed to close at break-even after moving my SL up to entry.

EURUSD 4 Hour Time Frame we see the fib levels added after the past downward movement. Price has bounced off of the 38.2% fib level and continuing downwards. A bounce off of a level of 38.2% or lower validates that the prior trend is intact and strong. The 4 hour time frame is all bearish. Looking for price to break the support level at 1.3634 to enter a short position with first take profit at the 1.3434 level. In order for a long position we need price to first break through the flat Kumo cloud and the Chikou to break above price.

Hi My name is saif I am 17 years old I have been seeing this thread from a long time trading since a year ! I recently swtiched to ichimoku from 3 months! I have a friend who has been using ichimoku analysis for the past 8 years( Mr Paul Clerico) and he is skilled in it , he uses it to make pips like its some child's play !!Someone asked my friend how does he use the Ichimoku and this was a brief he gave -

"Keep in mind the tenken and kijun are figured largely with MA's, so they cannot be backtested. They will usually look different after the fact than live, and we are concerned with what they look like live.
The timing of getting into a trend largely depends on what type of trade you are.
We'll continue talking longs:
The most strongest signal within the strict mandates of the ichimoku is on a TK cross above the cloud. This is because price has risen above all R's, and as you look down, you only see supports.
Entering the long below the cloud, you will be able to maximize the trend, but how do you know it will keep going north. Look at the current weekly of the USD/CHF. If price action was buried under the cloud, then the initial hit on the cloud will be strong R.
OTOH, if price action is buried under the cloud, and the candle rises above the TK cross, then you have an excellent entry because you still have a long way to go to hit the cloud with the TK acting as support.
Being inside the cloud, you have the ultimate equilibrium. With regard to the tenken and kijun you do not have any signal, regardless of the side you are on. Other factors, such as momentum studies are needed to make a determination as to which side the candles will break. You can also have light breaks on both sides in sideways markets.
Another thing you want to watch is the positioning of the tenken and kijun with respect to the cloud. If the tenken and kijun are buried underneath the cloud, while the candle is close to the top, then most likely, that market is reversing, at least temporarily. In this regard, we treat the tenken and kijun the same way we do the cloud, and that is as an equilibrium factor. Price will gravitate back to it, and that includes in a bull market on top of the cloud." I personally would also add to this that the clouds acts as an equilibrium once the price goes to far away from the cloud there would be a gravitation pullback to it same goes for the tenken and kinjun ! Also keep in mind that the cloud acts as a very good form of trend line features, support and Resistance !Like The superior trend lines have 5 legs and wih each hit it looses its strength same way when a candle hits a fresh cloud the chances are more big for a reversal! each hit on the CLOUDS or the kinjun-sen would make it loose its strength and the chances for a break through will be increase with each hit!

One thing that is underrated is the chinkou. It can be backtested.

I do not use the fibo but I have just recently 3 days ago added the SD extreme channel which works very well replacing the fibo to give a warning sign for a reversal! This is the H4 chart for eur/usd, the red line marked is the daily trend line which was broken at 1.3950 ! What I have learnt from my ichimoku teacher is that the rule with any good trend line if broken will have 3 facts -
1) A longer than usual candle will break the trend line
2) A correction will take the price back to the level it was broken
3) after the correction the price will reverse from there and start new trend

I have back tested this on longer time trend lines and it is a strict rules that implies with the analysis

The trend for this pair is bearish on the H4 and Daily !The Span - B or H4 bottom of the cloud is the place where the daily candle was broken at 1.3950 so a correction back to that level is a must before we see this pair reversing! 1.3950 is also the top of the daily cloud or Span-A! If you see the chart the price in a elliot wave completing its 5th wave and that would be a spike maximum to the correction point! Mind that 1.3830-40 is a great resistance area so it could take a few attempts before making it to the bottom cloud! This all adds together as a confluence for a reversal for a south move This level 1.3950 should be it for the upside and then we would see reversal which will take us back to the 1.34 area( this is also the trend line correction complete area , I will show it later)! There are a lot of supports level in between the journey I am sure all of you can mark it and expect a bounce of the daily kinjun !

1)how i would minimize my losses when something looks like an embryo trend and getting in,but proves to be a choppy whipsaw once again.
2)how i would optimize my exit when i am in,in a strongt trend

i found the same simple answer for both of questions

I dont post a chart because there are many examples,just look any chart that is trendind.I dont know if i was just looking for this or it reallly is like that,but no candle closes above the tenkan in a healthy downtrend(and the opposote for an uptrend).When i see the first bar that closes above tenkan,thats the first sign of something is happening to the trend,it will reverse or start to be choppy so its time to get out and book profit if in a trend already or get out with a minimum loss if just got in in a starting trend.

MA= moving average , What I meant by saying that kinjun and tenken can't be back tested is that they would usually look different, pretty and simple after the live fact, When live they would be different and after the live fact if you look at the history chart they would look different ! Things are not always cut and dry here, if you did notice some great crossover while looking in the history chart and would think "Damm I missed the trade in that great crossover" but the fact is at that point of time there would have been no crossover but it got created after the live fact !

I am impressed by your knowledge about Ichimoku and just wonder you are really at the age of 17? Anyway, it's nice to have new members with fresh ideas. Could you share about your ichimoku trading system, TF, entry signals, exit, SL, TP, etc. if possible?

Saif, this would be true if ichi was a repainting indi,but its not.all ichi lines dont change.usd/cad 5min there is a cross forming right nao as i write.
its up to the trader to decide if this is strong,medium or weak signal.

Guys, I have read 100 pages of this thread, can anyone clarify me if I have to finish reading almost 1000 more ? Maybe someone can point to latest trading scheme if it evolved during this huge post, please ?

Not really sure this statement is accurate. I trade crosses all the time, weak and strong. Never have much problem. The clue is in the candles, not the cross.

Just post a chart and ask what you need help with. Several good traders here.

I am not sure that If you got me !I got a same kind of question on the previous page pointing out to a 5 min chart !That is what I mean to look for the candle crossover and not for MA or T/K and they will look different on crossover after the fact live !

Hello mero How are you ? I never said its a re-painiting tool or something like that you misunderstood me ! I said that TK forms differently after the live fact and yes that is 100% true !You are 100% right in what you said there is a live crossover and if you took that one you maybe be lucky Could you post the same chart now ?
