what can i tell u? there are no "perfect" systems... but a bunch of strategies for trading trending and range-bound markets.

u can start evaluating and using bollinger bands, stochastics and pivot points..

usually they work pretty well when market is going "no-where"

Box strategy is one that I found to be good..It is about opening the trade after the currency pair has bounced between the same highs and lows for atleast 2 times.

1. The Box system is reliable and easy to use
2. But I am concerned about the risk reward ratio. As per the rules, the stop loss should be 1.5 to 2 times the size of the range.

Good forex trading system

First, you have to first define what does "best" mean. "Best" to me means a system that offers at most 5% drawdown but at least 10% return per annum. "Worst" to me could means a system that experience more than 80% drawdown but can give returns of 100% upwards. You have to clarify your desired risk-adjusted return target.

Second, would it be an automated system or manually traded system?

For any system to be successful, the skill of the operator/trader (that is you) is the determinant, even if it is an automated system (EA). For automated system that is trading range market, it will fail when market is trending. You therefore have to switch it off when market is trending and to switch it on when market is ranging. You therefore need to have a skillset that can optimally call a market trending or ranging. Not easy. Even not easy if you are operating/trading a manual system whereupon besides calling market condition, you have to also take care of trade signal monitoring (which requires patience and focus) and also the entire lifecycle of the trade order from entry to exit (which requires discipline and persistence).

Just like you don't expect a slow hand put inside the best F1 racing machine and systems much success against the professional F1 racers, the "best" trading system would requires the corresponding skillful operator/trader to bring out its performance.

Therefore, thirdly, and more importantly, you have to clarify your trading skillset so that the system recommend can fit your 'personality'. This is probably the most difficult to answer and if you do not know the answer yourself, nobody can help you because nobody knows you better than yourself. When you can answer this third questions, I am quite confident your original question will be answered as well.

Don't give up the search. And don't take shortcuts. If you try hard enough, you shall find that "best" system in time. I myself is also like you still searching for that "best" system currently. And I feel I am closer to finding that system now than 3 years ago. I will keep working hard at searching for it.
