[quote=forexpippy;5066924]Despite saying I was going to get out of the market this morning after an early couple of wins, since this is only on a small account I figured the practice would do me good.

Spotted a lovely cross on the M15 for EURAUD which provided a nice entry for the steep EMA angles on the H1. Got out with 21 pips.

Forexpippy, did you take the cross-over on your 15m screen as an entry knowing that the H1 was trailing sharply down? And can and should this be done on other pairs? So many times I see the H1 in a trend and have to wait quite sometime for the 15m to catch up. Other times it is just the opposite. Thanks and LG thank you also for your contribtions here and otherwise! Super system if I can ever be on the correct screen at the appropriate time. 66trader66.

Yes, the 200 EMA was down and the 3/8 EMAs were in the 5pm position, running parallel to each other, i.e. a strong downtrend.

So I used the cross of the EMAs on the M15 to identify a good point to jump on board the trend (which was after the price moved back downward following a retrace). The EMAs crossing on the M15 offer a good confirmation of this.

Hit my TP for 18. Your total is awesome! Now the trick is to end the week with that....and more...although that would be a good week's work.

This is only on a small account for practice. If I had serious money in there I would have stopped after the first trade of the day (which was over 60 pips).

I'm fortunate enough to be able to watch London open since I'm based in the UK. This gives me an hour or so before I head to the office to set up all my potential trades etc.

Then it's just a case of monitoring the set ups.

In reality, all of the trades I took after the first couple are more risky because I'm trying to do my analysis on an iphone, and monitoring things during the working day - not ideal! I can load up Oanda from my laptop in the office, so will probably start using that more (MT4 is junk anyway!)

However, I'm happy with one quality trade each day, and these charts are producing plenty at the moment.

Hi Lawgirl
Can I ask why you chose 4 one hourly candles for BO? Is it just something you have spotted on charts which makes this number of candles the best or something else?
Kind Regards
Geoff

I use the first four candles of the trading day to set S/R areas. But I have also used all 8 candles of the Asian session to do the same. There are some very successful traders who tell us not to trade at all during the Asian session because that is when the Big Dogs are setting their ranges.

But, I have found a 4 hour range to be about all that is needed to set the S/R area. I do trade the Asian session, due to my time zone.

This worked for me beautifully the last week.

I struggled with two different methods before this and watched my equity drop to half. Then after using this method, I managed to recover my loss plus a bit more now.

I find it is simple and clean. Not too many lines. Very specific too - if this happens, then do this. I am an engineer so I like set rules rather than fuzzy logic.

Now, the only thing I have to be wary is anticipating the crossings. We always like to get the tops and bottom don't we?

The 1H is also good as I work but I can glance through every hour or so. Better still when I am in position after a cross. Then I can come back to it after two or three hours.

Nice. Thanks Lawgirl.
