I'm not trading it and I didn't mean it to hit 75.00 yesterday but it's always interesting when a currency hits a post WWII high, no? Just needs a little time. Nearly 88% of retail traders long on it at Oanda now. I have found that FXCM's clients are usually less smart than Oanda's clients and sure enough 95% are long on it at FXCM (that's 17 traders long for every short).

Now that it has gotten a little more interesting, I updated my stats this morning. I've got an average yearly range for USD/JPY of 1,671 pips over the last 11 years. I've calculated that we've only done 979 pips so far this year with the high at 85.52 and low at 75.73 and we've got over two months for it to do some serious damage to some retail accounts. I don't wish monetary loss on anybody but, for me, it's all pointing to more downside especially with retail positions so heavily skewed. I don't place trades hoping a CB is going to intervene (been there, done that) and I also don't like to play chicken with a CB, so I'd say a lot of those retail traders are, at this point, wishing on a star.
