Well yes but Aud/Nzd has always been a cross and acted like one. So pretty much constrain in small ranges (which is not necessarily bad for swing trading) until a unidirectional move on FA. So no much TA intraday mumbojumbo and lots of patience and knowledge on "weird" FA required (weird not only because of time of the reports but the factors are way out of my tracking radar) to swing it and grab something decent.

Well yes but Aud/Nzd has always been a cross and acted like one. So pretty much constrain in small ranges (which is not necessarily bad for swing trading) until a unidirectional move on FA. So no much TA intraday mumbojumbo and lots of patience and knowledge on "weird" FA required (weird not only because of time of the reports but the factors are way out of my tracking radar) to swing it and grab something decent.

there are different ways to play Auld Nasty & I am still studying a little bit every day. I first started trying to scalp him because when things are "normal" or m/l dull, he will range in a flatline. When the volume is up (during the right hours of the asian session) any given 5-min candle will have a 10-20pip range, and you might flatline run an hour or so like that. ok, so enter long or short on the 10min sma mean line and shoot for 3 pips and you will hit them every time. Until you don't and you might be sorry if you were greedy. But I have hit those 20 in a row 2-3 lot scalps no brainer. Drawback is the 5-pip spread.... every now and then i get caught in a whip and have to give a chunk back but hey thats forex.

AUD acts as the risk-on leader of the pair so if you don't want to limit your profit just buy a dip on a global risk-on day and ride. just observe the secular trend since Oct 3.

I am still muddling through the FA approach but in general you just have to pay attention to any kiwi or aussie news because the pair will flex boldly on news. weighted that way especially for the AUD. it moves slow, though, so you can trade the news without so much fear of whipsaw action as compared to high volume pairs...

i like both those levels, 1.0122 has been quite a bastard, it held that pullback in check well two days ago...watching to see if last hours wick/high holds them...

I see. On AUD, yeap that what we have been talking, it is becoming a good one to put in the trading workspace.

Also agree that the right time for trading A/Z is definitively a must. News trading is very healthy as it doesn't move 100 ticks up down up in 1 hour. On scalping there are better instruments IMO (at least for my taste and trading time) that accomplish the same or more (i.e Fesx).

In any case, it will be definitively interesting to start exchanging more views on AUD in the thread.

Euro testing roll at last break out point and AUD testing an interesting level for risk off trade . Decision time to reload in euro or to load in AUD...so talk you later.
