But out your way, couple trillion barrels in the oil shale. Now, if someone could just figure out how to get a few billion acre feet of spare water out there, and the econistas would be willing to admit it wouldn't look any worse with a few yards of the shale gone, gas would be 59 cents a gallon.

Lets stop giving oil comp's tax breaks for closing refineriies and building a few more....and gas would be .... oooops that'll never happen....bottle neck....huh

yes a ton of gas.... drilled a few 9600 ft wells in colbran co... never made it to TP bc there was so much gas.... we had mud spewing out of the pipe at 6500 ft and had to cement there .... that was some scary shit bro....it was blowing my hair back while trying to break a joint so we could get out of the hole

oh yes its beautiful bro... my old roommate worked for an oilfield chemical company and i used to ride along with him to go deliver corosion chem and boiler chem to all the rigs in utah... just to see the scenery... amazing

My favorite part of the whole continent: the west slope of the Rockies to the high dome. Places like Dead Horse Point, where you can see the River a mile below you turn south into Cataract Canyon and on to Lake Powell, hundred miles or more. The arches... No one can ever see it all.

Is there still a lot of uranium tailing contamination in Grand Junction?

Is that in the shale country? Don't know where colbran is... That was one way they were going to do shale some time back: blast it loose in place, ignite it with gas, and get the oil out the bottom. In situ retort, I think it was called.

Hard way to get oil. A lot easier to do it like Phillip Anschutz did it: buy a lot of sections of land and find a billion barrels underneath it. Can't do that every day, though.
