I get that so much but I have to question why you would do this. At a time when the industry is moving away from spreads and desks, you are suddenly no longer transparent on this model and it makes me question your motivations. We will have to wait and see what people say once they start trading it, but I agree with other posters here. Wider spreads mean more likely to get stopped, less likely to hit profit, and even if that means the costs are built in, we have plenty of other brokers to abuse us like that. MBT and some of the others...

The transparent commission model is what I currently like about MBT.

What I've learned with MB ---Don't trade with MB in times of news, rollovers, Sunday opens, 5pm est rollovers and spikes(and who the hell knows when there is going to be a spike?) It is my opinion that they have a liquidity, server problems, or we play second fiddle to their banks. Just my opinion....I use other brokers during these times.

hey, they are trying to protect you from yourself in volatile times LOL....just like this new gimmick of no commission and larger spread....now what is the motivation for this change in spread?? Hmmmmm?? it definitely does not help their clients, so somebody is else getting the benefit....a deal desk broker wearing an ECN disguise.

Hmmm, I was down, but only for 10-15min. It was off and on too, which makes it harder, but did place key limit orders between server disconnects. Desktop Pro too. Must say as a new user, a bit disappointed, although the positive commissions helped keep me from walking away in rage. Just found it odd that trading during the news was fine, it was a few minutes after that the order server died...
Net-net, they still offer one of the better value propositions in forex trading, but if/when my balance is such that I can move along, I will if things are not fixed.

I can confirm that right after the 5:30 news we had a trade server issue where there were sporadic issue for about 25% of the clients. We pulled the server and rebalanced all the customers to other servers. It was not entirely down but sporadic for that 25% and it took about 15 minutes in all from start to finish to get them moved. There were no issues after that 15 minute mark. MT4 was not affected in this case as the order server that MT4 goes through was not the affected server. It was 25% of Desktop/Desktop Pro FX customers. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Justin,
thank you for the update.
I experience a longer outage than what you describe. There were two different problems ocurring, first the order server was completly down (connection indicator was red), after a while the connection worked again but there was a second problem - the Desktop reported "Trading temporarily unavailable for account XXXXXXXX...", i restarted the application several times and finally after around 6:15 it started to work again.
The account involved is a live account with MBT UK.
