although the Foreign Exchange Market is a decentralized OTC market and there exists no Volume on the SPOT price, however for those of you who are interested in research and are keen on thinking outside the Box.

the CFTC releases a COT report on a weekly basis, this public information can be very useful to the skilled trader, keep in mind that Futures and SPOT move in tandem through arbitrage and other mechanisms
it behooves you to check it out and learn how to read the COT

also for those trading Argentum/usd and Aurum/usd XAG XAU, this will be very useful.

Well boys and girls (I think we do not have many girl on this thread, huum that is not good, Buma, you are boss, can you do something about it? A place without girls is not place at all) eurusd has gone up 300 pips in two days, any views?
And do you agree with me that you do not need to know were she is going to be able to make money?

its a normal retracement to the massive move. I agree. Just watch, analyze, predict, be safe, be protected, then we're good to go.

I know how to read a COT report, i got the tutorial from babypips, but i dont know the source until you mentioned it

hm.. i see that leveraged funds have more shorts than longs on the euro..while the dealer interm. is long. I can still see its majorly short environment

a more clearer summerized Report

commercials accounted for 49 % increased their Longs
Non commercials accounting 29% increased their shorts
non reportables account for 22% increased their shorts
for the month of september



some traders use information on the COT to see what the big commercial players are doing, and contrarian to small commercials

as well as extremes in sentiments, if everyone is holding a position who is left to transact with? causing a reversal.

look for yourself, and make some research, i am no expert at reading the COTs but i find this info to have a lot of potential.

also find out where the big players are hedging in the Forex option reports and you get an idea of the under current.

but overall your price reading and felling for market direction should guide you

i dont buy this change in sentiment

give me a break asset purchasing ? sound like money printing to me
capitalize banks? sounds like a bail out

they will cut interest rates soon, their statements are very dovish.

the market completely ignored the big elephant in the room

Long- greek default already priced in, market uncertainty over contagion and broader EZ crisis outlook improved do to ECB EFSF to work more in coordination with each other. ECB has shown it will take extra ordinary measures to inject more liquidity and aid in solvency of Banks. Bad NFP report from US will force FED to debase the currency further depreciating the USD.

Short: EZ crisis is not over yet and the measures undertaken by ECB are not enough especially after downgrade of Italy and threats of further downgrade, will increase the expense of servicing the massive debt of bigger economies like Spain, Italy, and might threaten the rating of the core countries. NFP better than expected USD in no threat of evaluating.

Asia equities are up, risk apetite for now is on, look for upward euro,


TECHNICALS,
price, moving upward from previous lows at 1.31 area the move is already on its way, how far we dont know but 1.35 area shows previous support possibly resistance, and if one wanted to be longing this the bus was missed back at 1.31-32 area, now is time for me to look for diminished buying pressure to continue shorting this position.

look for continuation up by asia holding the line at 1.34ish level
