this is a typical situation which happens so many times...
I know I should close this position and think that I "gained 15pips" for not waiting for my SL to be taken out....

However, this can drop from here to my TP...

I am never sure of what to do... but I think there is a 60%+ chance of SL to be taken out...

True, but sometimes that bird makes a turd in your hand, like now.

I have however always been jealous of traders that put in a 5% hard stop loss but are looking for retracement(s) or pullback(s) when the trade goes wrong...

Meaning: you might have a 4% in negative before they let you out at a better price around 2-3%... But if it ends up being a full turd they would always have the 5% hard stop loss...

Have to be good at exit though, which no one is...

you pick your spots, take your shots, not much else to do, taking some off the table always helps however...
