Thta's the bible. A trip there will be unavoidable...you may as well bookmark it. MT4/MQL are Russian creations. The translations to English are a little week, so it can be a bit of a struggle at times. I came to it with a fairly decent grasp on the C language, which it is very heavily based upon...so that helps anytime I need to reference something. I don't know how difficult it will be to learn from there without an underlying grasp of C.

Once you get one language, it becomes quite easy...well, easier...to move between languages. For instance, at the moment, I'm doing a good bit of what I need in C...bits in Java and MQL...and have also done an app to monitor and control my full application from my iphone. I don't have any formal training in any of those languages. Just exposed to computers for a long time...and lots of asking "how" and "why."

There are very solid resources all over the net to learn C, C#, C+, Java, etc, etc. Tough to suggest where to start. A lot of the others grew from C...or some of its shortcomings. If you know it, as I said...others become more logical from the start. Again...MQL is directly based off C, with some stark differences, that I won't bother mentioning right now. But, point is...if you're going to learn MQL, I would (almost) suggest learning C first. It may save a lot of head scratching when you're learning MQL, because there will far better resources.

I love being able to do it. Takes time to learn...you just have to practice, practice, practice...but being able to do my own stuff is pretty cool. I'm no guru, by any stretch of the imagination, but...I know a few, so that helps, too!
