Here's one of those meaningless metrics which I'm so fond of. Copper is back to the high of the day, 3.35 X-basis, off a low of around 3.07.

That's around a 56 cent swing, top-bot-top. The first copper contract I can recall ever trading was, circa 1980, at a price level less than 0.70.

Meaningless, but it might say a little about volatility, globalisation, as well as inflation.

I recall trading it in the mid 70's, like it was yesterday...in late 2001/2 I recall buying truckloads of $1/$1.25 call spreads for 10 or 15 points, the guys in NY thought I was nuts....they all expired worthless, was a couple of years early...
