Don't get me wrong...I'm a Mac guy...through and through. Actually never found a more stable machine to run Windows on than a Mac, though. Macbook Pro...Mac Pro...whatevs. Think its just the unified hardware config.

No Mac MT4 available. You can find ways around it...or Ubuntu on a Mac through Wine. Can all become a big pain in the azz, though.

I hung out on a PC gaming site for about a week. Spec'ed out the most uber-geeked PC these guys were building, and just bought everything myself and built it. Fraction of the cost of a Mac...latest technology (ahead of Macs)...and absolutely rock solid.

No auto-update or any of that shite. Will do on the weekend, if crucial.

funnily enough, it did fire up at 3 am, i'm +5 hours on you...
There's a setting somewhere that controls that; I guess they think nobody in their right mind is using their computer at 3AM local time, or maybe running some important program unattended.

prolly gonna be on this for another 6 to 12 months anyhow, still a pretty high spec machine..

I just kill it altogether and run it when I want/need to.

MS really does think their customers are dopes. Granted, a lot of them probably are...and probably appreciate it, but...if you're running W7 64-Bit Ultimate...you should probably give an option to get rid of all that muck on install. Takes a while to dig through and get rid of all the "protection" pop-up foolishness.

Only response for those happenings. I know that pain...extremely well. Any fresh installs I do now...besides Date and Time...that is the first thing I set about getting rid of. Just too much pain/frustration/$'s at stake to put off. Followed closely by all of the...Are you sure you want to blah, blah, blah...prompting. No point building a new machine only to throw it through a window after a few days!

Back in a while. Leave some for everyone else!

Kidding...snatch them all!
